If you go to your User CP, scroll down to Settings & Options, click on Edit Options, then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options it lets you edit your settings for Message Editor Interface (you have three options: Basic Editor - a simple text box, Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls, and Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing). [WYSIWYG means What You See Is What You Get - WBay]

This (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh58/cloedoll/Other/examplestandard.jpg) is an example of what your message would look like as your typing in Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls.

This (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh58/cloedoll/Other/wysiwygexample.jpg) is an example of what your message would look like as your typing in Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing (WYSIWYG mode).

See the awesome difference? :D

You can switch between the two views by toggling the little button in the upper right corner of the reply box that looks like this: http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/images/styles/beige/editor/switchmode.gif, but you would have to click on that button every post to use that view (WYSIWYG). To make it easier on you, you can switch your default setting from Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing by going to your User CP, scroll down to Settings & Options, click on Edit Options, then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options, all that's left to do is click on the drop down menu and select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" and click on "Save Changes." :)

Thanks cloe! You've been a life saver, helping everyone figure this stuff out!

Like I said in the other thread, we've now changed this so new members will default to the WYSIWYG view, but the first 151 members may want to change their settings too.

Thanks JackieB, I don't hear that too often! Ha ha. I hope others find this thread, WYSIWYG is a ton easier for me and I think it will be for many others, too. xD

Is there a way to set it so the reply window pops up separately? Instead of loading on the same page as you were viewing the thread? Like at Horse.com you could set it to open a new little window so you could still look at the thread in the other one and go back and forth between the two?

If not that's ok, I just wanted to know if I was missing something. I kinda liked having a separate window so I could go back and read what I was responding to before I posted it. Now I can't because it uses the same window.

Maybe I can try right clicking on the "post reply" button and telling it to open a new window? I will try that and see if it works.

Your last suggestion would work, Or if you hit Add Reply (not the quick reply) and want to look at the comment you're replying to.... they're all down below the reply... you can reference the whole thread there.

Ohhh, I see now. I didn't look that far down. lol Thankx WB. I didn't know it shows you the posts if you scroll down when replying. Well, that works just fine. I would have never known they where down there. lol

See, I told you I'm new at this forum program! hahaha :)
