The horse trails in SE MN close as of November 1st. Every year there is a ride in the Zumbro Bottoms on the last weekend of October called the Frostbite.
Is anybody going? I'll be working but as part of work I will be checking in on the area. The number of campers there this year has been down for various reasons but the trails are open and in good shape.
It would be nice to say hi to any forum members there if possible.

I would love to go, but it's too far for us in NW Wi. And we don't have a trailer at the moment. Hope there is a good turnout though.

I'll try to keep tabs on the event. I'm going to miss my visits with all the horse campers after the trails close. It is a long wait until they open again on May 1st.

I'm way up in the north central part of the state, and I'd need a horse that was up to the ride- sounds like fun, though!

Not everybody that goes even rides. Some are just there for the socialization. There are close to 75 miles of trail even though the State's web site list it as much less. The Web site also says there are 20 camp sights. That's if you look for the actual numbered pads. I've seen over 200 units on the bigger West side.

I went through the camping areas this morning and people are starting to file in. I hope it gets busy and I get a chance to see some old friends and maybe meet some new ones between job duties and some other commitments over the weekend.
If famers_wife gets gets there I hope to meet here. We have spoken before but never met.

Oh, it's this weekend. (You can tell I keep track of the calendar real well:rolleyes:) I don't think farmers is going this weekend. I can't remember... I have my son's birthday party on Saturday too. I'd love to go, but we've been planning this for awhile. :( Oh, well. Have fun!! Take lots of pictures.

I wish I could go and meet you Ranger but I have to stay home and work. :( I have to get goats moved and clean around the barn. I did hear about it. I went on the Wycoff ride last weekend. I will have to post pic of that. Maybe next year. I think next year I am going to set up a ride for the Minn/Wis group and see who shows up. That would be fun.

Sounds like a good idea FW. Every group needs a person to organize things. Maybe things will work out next year. I'm not really participating in this one either. It's just that work puts me in the area and I thought it would be good to say hi to any members that might be there.
