My friend at the barn has decided to purchase on of the reining stallions at our barn. He had not been ridden in three years and this horse is just amazing....he can get on him and he has not forgotten anything that he had learned. I am a believer in good breeding and what kind of horse can come out of it.
I am not familiar with the whole "reining" world but he will compete with him at some point.
Here are a few pictures. This is only the second time that he was outside with him. He can get a bit distracted...there are lots of "mares" around that he wants to flirt with. This horse has a beautiful long thick mane. My friend keeps it in braids or it is a mess!

How is he bred? He reminds me a lot of my mare in conformation.

I will find out his bloodlines tomorrow....I have no idea. I just know he is foundation bred? The whole western world is a bit greek to me but I am learning.

Here is what I found. My friend's stallion is the son of "Dox Lucky Starlight". I am not sure if Mike Flarida is the one who trained him but I will find out.
We went on another trail ride yesterday and my friend took his stallion....he was amazing.
For those of you who "rein" the below mentioned may make sense to you.:)
18 Dox Lucky Starlight 219.0 Mike Flarida Lynn Hatheway, Centerburg, OHMike Flarida of Lima, Ohio, won the first Cosequin US Equestrian Team Reining Championship in 1999 and the talented trainer is also a two-time National Reining Horse Association Futurity champion with over $480,000 in career earnings.Dox Lucky Starlight is a 6-year-old stallion owned by Lynn Hathaway of Centerville, Ohio. The Grays Starlight son has twice won the All American Quarter Horse Congress Novice Horse championship

Here is a link I found from my friends stallions sire. They are both at the farm.
