I've lived in the same town in Oregon my whole life but had never been Paulina Falls so I finally ventured the 1 and a half to go see them. They were beautiful! Not what I was expecting for Central Oregon, if your ever in the area you should definately go see them. We hiked for awhile too and you can take horses on the trails which I very much want to do next time.

Those are some very nice photos. In terms of a critique, I have two suggestions if you wish.

-The lighting is rather "middle of the day". There are about a zillion photos of waterfalls out there. If you want yours to pop a bit more, consider taking them at dawn, dusk, during an overcast day when the sun pops out just for an instant onto part of the photo, etc.

-Experiment around with composition where things aren't centered quite so much. Your second photo down does that with the waterfalls off to the right.

-Do you have a polarizing filter? Those can help a photo really pop, too.

Anyway, nice job. Thanks for sharing.

Jackie B said what I'd suggest!! Lovely shots you've got!! I would also recommend a wider angle lens on the pond/sky photos. And the waterfall would be nice if you did a longer exposure, but they are nice the way they are as well!

That is a beautiful area. Where exactly is that? I lived in Oregon for three years but I'm not really that familiar with Central Oregon. I lived in the Portland area and have relatives on the coast so I'm mostly familiar with those areas. I used to think that central Oregon looked so brown but now that I live in the desert I'd kill for that much green!

It's near Lapine, OR which is close to Bend, OR. I'm about 45 min away from Bend. It's pretty green around here, but if you go much more east it's brown and hardly any trees, just sagebrush. I really dislike the eastern Oregon scenery but here in Central Oregon you can get a mix of everything

Oh ok, I've been in SunRiver and Black Bute a few times so I'm a little familiar with that part of Oregon. It is very pretty there.
