We want to have a cool farm name but I'm kinda having a hard time coming up with one thats awesome. We were going to name it Double L Ranch (both our last names -my maiden name- start with L) then I thought of Possum Ranch as something fun but I'm not stuck or committed to either. We live in Central MS so the question is what ideas do YA'LL have!!!! :cowboy:

:hysterical: Possum Butt! I wonder what impression that would have if somehow our 'ranch' became famous!

Is this for any kind of commercial purpose like boarding, training or breeding, or just for your own personal farm?

If personal.... something cute.... if commercial, you might want something other than Possum Butt Ranch. :)

Not commercial at this point other than maybe selling farm produced items but I did want to have a name that would 'go the distance' if we grew into something more. I have dreams!

You sound like us.
We raise a huge garden every year and sell our produce at the local farmers market.
My wife does alot of canning and sells that too.
Next year I hope to branch out into Honey bees, cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys.

Good Luck with your Farm :)

Hey awesome on that Horseless! We have become more and more motivated to become self sufficient in this world that we're in, so the by product of that is to sell some to support some. Also if I had my druthers I'd raise some beautiful talented horses to sell as well but as of now its just a dream.......

I always liked names that sort of focused on the surroundings.....say, like the trees there.....do you have a a lot of trees? Some farm names that I liked focused on the trees at the farm.....such as Oak Grove, Whispering Pines, Maple Ridge, etc. Or, perhaps a nearby creek?

Good thought Remali. We do have some very lovely large old trees called Pin Oaks I believe that are planted side by side. I had thought of Pin Oak Ranch but I think there is another ranch with that name. I suppose I could do something like Double Oak or Twin Oak. Other than that not alot of trees on our property unless we get our wish of purchasing the adjacent 63 acres  no creek but there is a 'dry creek' bed, sorta, that runs across our property. The property is not flat so maybe Oak Hill? I'm just not captured by any of the ones I've come up with yet, if you know what I mean.

My husband calls our little farm Warriors Rest, I like Paradise Found, because I feel like we did find paradise when we moved there. Funny, we don't seem to rest very much, but we do enjoy taking care of the place. :p

I also like trees, mountains, rivers or flowers. Just some thoughts.

I'm a traditionalist - Ilike the idea of the region and natural surroundings or how your farm/ranch is put together ...
From one direction you would ask your self why did John name his farm Crestfield Farm ... from the other direction you can see why - the farm is on a plat-toe (spl) and its at it's crest.

Do yu have a domiant structure , like an english barn etc ... how many acres do you have , and where it lands in a section line ... etc ,, how bout birds over head or near the barn ??
(have fun it's your place) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
