I have two cats. One has very thick hair and the other has thin hair (I'd say the average house cat kinda coat). My first cat, Ziggy, (thick) has had dandruff for quite some time. I started to notice some on the second cat, Gavin, (thin) and I decided I'd give them both a good brush and OH BOY did I uncover some nasty dandruff on my Gavin. :( I've googled how to get rid of dandruff on cats when my first cat started to get it but didn't find any good advice. They eat Iams original chicken dry food. I tried to feed them some wet food but Ziggy doesn't like it (weird cat) he only likes to lick some of the juice and Gavin never eats it all and I don't even give them full cans. So if anyone has dealt with this before and has gotten rid of it or significantly reduced it I'd love some suggestions! :) It can't be comfortable for these poor guys.

I've never dealt with the dandruff itself in kitties, but I do know that fish oil is really good for their coats.

Cool! So you think I should pour it in with their food? How much do you think I should put in? They have food out all day so I can't monitor how much each gets but I'm willing to give it a shot! Thanks.

get the stuff you can put in thier water . NUTRO has a great cat food with the fish oil already in it. you might try that i know i did use it when my kitty was still alive and she was very happy and FAT.....lol
Here is the web site so you can read it and get an idea about it if you like it let me know i can send you a coupon for food. http://www.nutroproducts.com/cat.shtml

Good advice, Miatapony. I tried the treats with my cats, and it was hit and miss.

Now, they're on Felidae, which is very similar to the Nutro line. Getting it in thier food every day is probably the best way. I've noticed a major change for the better in my cats' coats, especially the long haired ones.

Thanks for the link miata! Unfortunatelly Ziggy has a sensitive stomach and Iams is the only thing that doesn't make him vomit non stop. I'm a little nervous to switch their food. :( If I don't see a change in their coat with the fish oil I'll try the NUTRO.
