This past July, we were on a 2 week trail riding trip to NM and CO. During our last week of vacation, we were in CO at Brown's Creek, which is located between Salida and Bueno Vista. We decided to take a day off from riding and drive up to an old mining ghost town, St. Elmo's.

America is a country we should all be proud of and do all we can to preserve it's beauty for future generations. This is a picture and Old Cree Indian Prophecy that was in a window in one of the old buildings in St. Elmo's. It will give you something to think about.

In case you can't see it good enough to read, it says:

"Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find
That money can not be eaten."

(Mtnmollie, I thought that this kind of tied in with your "I Wonder" thread. I knew that you would appreciate the wisdom in this old Indian prophecy.)

"Only after the last river has been poisoned,"

The canoe team fell into the Potomac River near Washington D.C.

They all got very, very sick.

When I was young, I saw dead fish on her shoreline near George Washington's home.
There are no fish to die in that river anymore.

Raw pooey- human suwage goes into the creek which flows into the river-
at Tamarack where I rode horses in High School.

It was illigal- but what the heck.

Some people can get away with murder.

America loves our Fish and Game and wild places, dont we?

Heck I thought everybody did.
Even loggers go to roadless to hunt game.

That is so sad, but true. I have never understood why people can't open their eyes and see how we are destroying the earth.
