So I'm sure most of you have seen the videos of people "mixing" up the first dance and it was really cool but I think a lot of people have started to do it more often and it's far less original now but this....this is just too cool and funny!

Oh I think that is really really coool. never seen anything like it! I love it when people plan weddings that are who they are, and that are fun to be at. I love it, I've just so rarely seen it! LOL I think it's too bad when brides don't even look like themselves at the wedding. They're some kind of artificial constructed thing.
My own hubby and I used music from Lord of the Rings for our processional.... "Concerning Hobbits". It was very important to how we met, and who we were then, and it's a pretty piece of music, and we loved it. :)
On this one... about halfway through I started thinking "WOW, this is a really huge wedding party... then I realized I'd seen some of these people before, lol" They were circling back around. :D

I totally agree! That's cool WB :) I looked that piece up and WOW...what a beautiful piece.
ETA: and I think it makes it that much cooler that they did this in a "traditional" church.

YouTube - LOVE STORY (Taylor Swift) meets VIVA LA VIDA (Coldplay) - Piano Cello - by Jon Schmidt I think this is the song I want for my processional. :D (if that ever happens ;) ) It's upbeat and beautiful to me.

I think so too... It added to the terrific surprise for everyone in attendance.
Mine was not so formal, it was on the beach at our beach house. :)
Your piece is beautiful. I'm listening to it now. :)

That was awesome! If I ever get married that's how it's going down. :D Funny because the bride and groom seemed the least into it of all of them.

I can completely see this being my cousins wedding! Except on the beach in Mexico and she says she's gonna be in a white bikini.

That's really nice shadyhill! Really pretty and peaceful with a bit of anticipation, excitement, and adventure ;) It was kind of intereting listening to the commentary afterwards as well about why he chose to intertwine those two songs :) I am listening to the "Concering Hobbits" piece right now, I can totally see it fitting in a wedding and can definetely see how personal it would have been for you two ;)
I personally have never thought much about "wedding planning", certainly doesn't mean i don't want to get married, just haven't thought about how any of it would go along really.

Concerning Hobbits is my "happy music" any time. :)
We didn't have a long way to go or a big wedding party... so we timed it and shortened it a bit... worked perfectly for us. :)

I like that its bright and chirpy, great wedding choice, my fav piece of LOTR music would have to be Forth Eorlingas tho (probably not wedding appropriate, but I am not sure I am either)....Kevin

Isn't that piece jammed packed with everything! :D That's why I love it so much. I'm a huge taylor swift fan too lol. The commentary is pretty cute isn't it? What a cool dad.
Oh man..I think I've been planning my wedding since I was in 3rd grade. lol I'm kooky :p

kevin- you can play whatever song you want at your wedding..it's yours. ;) I could totally see this song at a wedding right before the new couple walks into the reception. Around 2:20ish would be the perfect time to walk in ;). I'm a bit of a wedding fanatic...it isn't healthy.
P.S- WB It's cool that Concerning Hobbits is your happy song no matter what. It's just so pretty (I've listened to it twice today) and I'm sure the connection to your wedding makes it even happier.

Ooh - that's a different version... a little. :) Live orchestra...
The spot about a minute in where it sortof stops and meanders around a bit... to make room for some dialogue in the movie... we cut that part out and cut back to the processional-sounding bit. :)
I found the actual sound-track piece...

That was just too awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! I agree with WB about how great it is when the wedding reflects the two who are getting married. I am by no means a traditionalist and would hate for something to look like all the rest.
I don't think I would do something like that...maybe in another way...but I would absolutely love to go to a friend's wedding who was similar! How fun!

This is a great video and truly expresses the couple's personality. Wedding should reflect who the people involved are--traditional or nontraditional. We are thinking of a ceremony on the beach and a bar b que back at the ranch. Can't afford too much in today's economy but want to put our stamp on our wedding and enjoy our day. For people who don't enjoy the nontraditional--they are there to support the couple, not do a commentary on the wedding.

Thanks for sharing that, the wedding intro was great- what an memorable way to start a life together, lol!
And I love that Taylor Swift/Coldplay song- but it's not available to download right now, bummer. I listened to the artists other stuff and he is so talented- makes me wish I had stuck with piano lessons :)
WB- concerning hobbits is great, one of my favorite songs from the trilogy.

If I get married again (not likely) it'll be me on Solon's back and the Groom better have his own warhorse. And armor. And long black hair.
