View Full Version : Good grief, it's hot here
I keep visualizing my husband, last December, peering over the dashboard of the truck, trying to see through the only clear spot on the windshield, because the dang wipers kept icing up on our way to the track. 35 miles of that, one way, with kooky drivers spinning out right and left. It was war! What a bunch of extra work.
It helps.

It's sticky and hot here. The rain cooled things off a bit, but the humidity is a killer.

Eastern Washington managed to avoid the 105 in the Seattle area, we had mid eighties today, very nice! We will however heat up come the end of the week as everyone else who had the heat wave cools off
We are burned to a crisp down here. With the toasted grass and dust, all we need is the scent of blackberries in the mix and it would seem like mid August already.
90 degrees at 11PM? It's different anyway. Whew....

Ewe...we're not even that bad. It was only low 90s today but very humid. Can't complain about rain though. I don't like to go broke buying hay :)

Mid 70's most of the summer, down to 55-60 at night. I have fields of alfalfa ready to be cut but it rains about every third day so it's been waiting.
Went for a 2 hour ride yesterday & the horses barely broke a sweat.
No place is perfect. I miss hot weather, sometimes.

I hate heat, when it gets above 70 I start to get miserable. Hope it lets up soon for all of you living with the heat. We have rain here every day, I am really starting to worry about the hay, we only had a few good hay days. I think it rained every day but 2 in June and July hasn't been much better. Guess it's better than that heat though!
I'm not complaining, just marveling. Hot is better then cold, but I sure envy the green pastures I see in photos posted here.

I'm complaining! I'll marvel later!
I'm longing for the cold snap and 16 inches of snow :)
At least we have good heat... most folk around here don't have air conditioning.

Natisha- about the same here, maybe a little cooler, lol! Where's that heat? By the time it got here, it would probably be tempered down to the balmy 80's lol!

I'm not complaining! I'll take Summer over Winter no matter the day, even if it means I have to go for a nice refreshing swim ;)

We've had a bit of a cool summer so far, we had about a week of 90's last month and that was it....
so far it's been nice here. The hot temps in Oregon sure are crazy, I hope it lets up out there soon so you guys get a break.
Here, wb. Frozen pipes, power outages, no water, if you depend on a well, hauling water, by the bucket, to the horses, sleeping with one ear open for the first crack of that big tree on the west side of the house coming down and squishing you. I could go on and on.
At least we have an excuse to do next to nothing when the heat is on. Now, go set yourself up a redneck pool of your own, and count your blessings. Oh, I saw a picture of some kids that used the pickup bed for their tarp water feature. Great idea, and so roomy.

It was 108 here in OR too! I think the Beaver State is getting more than its fair share of the heat this summer!!!
