View Full Version : Does anyone from the "old forum" remember...

... who it was who had Asperger's Syndrome? I have a friend from high school whose daughter has recently undergone a lot of testing. They are leaning toward Asperger's and should know for sure soon. In the meantime she has been doing a lot of reading and when she mentioned it I remembered a long post about it on h.com. Unfortunately, I looked over there and it seems that all of that great old information has been wiped out. If I can remember who it was, and if they're still around (and one of the "friendly ones" in our group) I thought I'd see if they were willing to talk to my friend.

Thanks!

I think that's right, but I'm also not sure she's been here. Not under that name anyway...

Oh - it was Fred! And I'm pretty sure someone else chimed into that thread and had a child with or something like that too. I'll have to go see if Fred is around over there anymore.

definitely was fredilina - she stopped posting a long time ago on horse. I'm pretty sure BadLands son has it also - she can probably offer some insight.

Myself - I have dated a guy with aspergers so understand quite a bit about it.

ETA - I know off alot of forums about AS as well if you are interested. Both from the aspies perspective and not.

I've got an online buddy with it...and she has a blog that somewhat follows it and her life with it
She usually puts some good articles she finds on there too

I taught a few Boy Scouts with AS when I worked at a BSA Camp. It was different, but unless you were notified that they had AS, you just thought of them as slightly outspoken and at times a bit rude and not really ones to join in on everything...but for the most part, pretty normal.

Ah ah just hang on. Fred has autism, which is on a different end of the autistic spectrum than Asbergers Syndrome. I don't remember anyone having Asbergers particularily, but I know Fred had autism. She and I talked a lot because my brother has it as well. My two cousins have Asbergers and there is a difference between the two.

Fred is high functioning Autistic. I have not seen her here or on the other forum either. I do have a 16 year old son who has Asbergers as well s being high functioning Autistic. I can talk to her if you or she would like. I am having some family issues and haven't been on much lately but pm me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I never realized that there were so many of us that have child or a relative with Autism.... We should form a support group for all of us on here.
