Filly and Mare Sprint: Ventura
Juvenile Fillies Turf: Maram
Juvenile Fillies: Stardom Bound
Filly and Mare Turf: Forever Together
Lady's Classic: Zenyatta

The Lady's Classic (formally known as thee BC Distaff) was just awesome to watch...... Zenyatta stayed way back for most of the race, then made her closing kick at the end. She won by 1 1/2 lengths, i believe.......anyways, she's undefeted- 9 for 9!!:)
Can't wait to watch the BC Turf & the Classic tommarow, should be exciting!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO ZANYETTA! I'm gonna go see if I can find the Lady's Classic and other BC races on last night online. I also have to go and see what channel and time today's races start. I kinda flipped through the sports channels and didn't really see any horse racing.

 So mad. I just had a long response typed out and I had to wait to post it and it kicked me off and made me log in again.

Basically it was:

Awesome fillies and mares yesterday!!!!! :jawdrop: There were some awesome stretch runs and closing kicks out there. Looks like the track really favors closers which could be good or bad for Curlin today. Can't wait to see today's races. Neither of the channels that it's supposed to be on right now have it on, but it's supposed to be on ESPN in a half hour so I'll definitely be watching!

Yay actually I just turned it on to watch. I'm not much of a "race" fan but it was something to watch & I enjoy watching the talent. I really don't know the back ground or histories of any of the horses! I think thats neat that "tizzy" I believe is the name has 3 sires in that one race!

I wish!!! ESPN didn't start broadcasting until afterward and the as for the other two channels that Tvguide said would have horse racing on; one didn't come in and the other was playing football.

I thought he had it with the way he took off there! And then not to even get in the top 3. Wow. Poor Curlin. Congrats to Raven's Pass.

No, Curlin was 4 or 5th - he dropped back fast once that first horse passed him.

Tiago was my pick in the Kentucky Derby a couple years ago. Hadn't heard anything on him since, good to see he is still doing well.

Its too bad about Curlin, but he is still an amazing horse and really deserves everything he has accomplished.

I watched a couple of the races, but it was way too nice a day to be indoors. I had to get out and ride! Especially since ABC didn't even broadcast the Classic.

here's the results from all of thee races today.....
BC Marathon:: Muhannak- won it by a head in front of Church Service. time was 2:28.24 for 1 1/2 miles.
Turf Sprint: Albertus Maximus- he has a nice come-from-behind victory. won by a half-length over Diabolical....it really looked like Diabolical had it, but that horse just ran right by him. time was 1:11.60 for 6 1/2 furlongs.
Dirt Mile: Goldikova: this was amazing to watch. time was 1:33.4 last years winner, Kip Deville, finished 2nd.
Juvenile: Midshipman- beat Square Eddie by 1 1/4 lenghts. time was 1:40.94 for 1 1/16 miles.
Juvenile Turf: Donativem- beat Westphalia, the favorite, by one half length. time was 1:34.68 for a mile.
BC Sprint: Midnight Lute- I was really happy to see him win. I was pretty sure it was going to be him or Street Boss. He ran a fantastic race, and it's really cool to see him end his career on a great note. time was 1:07.08 for 6 furlongs, a Breeders Cup record.
BC Turf: Conduit- I would have liked to see Red Rocks or Better Talk Now win, just cause it would have been cool to see an old guy win. he won by 1 1/2 lengths and ran the mile-and-a-half race in 2:23.42.
BC Classic: Raven's Pass- I was really rooting for Curlin, he's such a great horse, but obviously he's a dirt horse, and didn't race well on the synthetic. it probably didn't help that it was in the 80's, either. Raven's Pass ran a good race, winning by 1 3/4 lengths over the Euro HenrytheNavigator. The race was won in course-record time, finishing in 1:59.22. Tiago finished third, Curlin a disapointing fourth. Curlin was given a standing ovation after cantering past the grandstand following the race.

overall......a very exciting day!!:cowboy:

Whoo!

What a day.

I went over to the saddling paddock early to try and get in on the rail before the Classic and it was jam packed. Everyone wanted to see Curlin. Got some good pictures of lots of horses. The Classic was nice. I watched Casino Drive go on his blow-out in front of the stands during the warm up. Casino Drive was really edgey in the paddock, he almost kicked a couple of people. Curlin did nicely. Sure, he didn't win, but eh, he just didn't fire. He got the lead around the turn, looked like he was going to run and just came up empty. Tiago just barely edged him for third.

Tiago's such a great little trooper. He trudges along back there almost dead last, and then has this big old closing kick, but it's kind of too bad for him that he usually runs out of track. Saw him win the Santa Anita Derby in 2007 in an upset. Seems to be that both he and Giacomo have very late closing kicks.

Dad kept rooting for the grays, so he was happy when Donativem won.
