So, I decided to use my tax refund check to pay off all my credit cards. My Chase statement said I had a balance of $874.00. So, I immediatly write a check for that amount, send it in. Friday, I get yet another statement, saying I still owe $3.87 in finance charges. So, I call and ask why. In the very fine print on the back of the bill, lists a little known clause that says, you MUST pay off the balance for 2 straight months in order to get your balance to 0.00.

Cheap SOB's.....

Needless to say, I will NEVER do any business with Chase as long as I live.

I think my Dad has a Chase one. I know he's had problems with them Capital One and somewhere's else I think. I'll tell him about this though as I'm not 100% sure what and who he's been dealing with.

Thanks for the heads up!

I resently have been paying off cards also. And got a notice form Chase that they are lowering my allowable because I haven't been carrying enough balance. Huh  Oh well I guess, one last one I can get into trouble with.

Oh they've pissed my hubby right off. Trying to raise our interest rate WAY up for no good reason, and he was MAD, lol. He called and they said that it will not happen until August 17th.. So I'm sitting here looking at a huge note taped to our computer that says, "Chase: CLOSE BY AUG 17."

LOL.. gotta get that last little bit on there.. :p

That's just great. I have Chase now because of the hostile takeover from Washington Mutual. (I at least called it hostile).

I went to cash a travel advance check and Chase wouldn't let me cash it. They said it had to be deposited for 24 hours. I said, why so you can make interest off it?

WM always let me cash government checks immediately. The Snotty McSnottyPants teller told me, "well maybe that's why they got in so much trouble".

So far I don't like any of the new changes and the online billing sucks. I don't know what bank to change to though...

They are all bad!! I just had that happen with Amex. I paid off the card, then got a statement for $2.27. I was so mad that I had to waste another stamp.

We dealt with Wells Fargo and they lost a $10K deposit once! Thank God I still had my reciept, and they also misplaced a $30K wire transfer. Needless to say I don't deal with Wells Fargo.

All the banks are trying to find ways to make more money. I had a credit card raise the interest rate from 4% to 24% all because my payment got there a day late!! UGH!!! I was so pissed and canceled the card!

All cards are the same.

That small charge is the interest on the unpaid balance from the previous statement date to the actual date payment received.

How lovely to know about Chase... I just took out a loan for a new car with them today. Fabulous.... I have several family members that use Chase for banking and credit cards, I'll let them know.

Yep, I had that fun with one of my credit cards. They were charging me a fee to make payments online. So, I went to pay off the cc online, tried to add on the additional fee and they wouldn't let me over pay the account! Then I had to write a check for this miniscule fee because it would have cost me $15 to pay $4 over the phone! And I STILL would have had to send in a check because they wouldn't let me over pay the bloody amount to pay the fee!

Gotta keep plugging away at those bloody cards, pay them off and have a chopping party.

Anymore? I am with you, vicklynn, there aren't any good ones that won't try to screw you if possible.

Actually, for those former military members try USAA. I absolutely love them. The web page will say that only military and retires and their dependance can join but I know for a fact that isn't true. We have everything through them insurance loans and CC. And they have never steered us wrong!!! They are one of the few banks who are still doing well.

www.usaa.com if anyone is interested.
