So, with the Dressage front slowly improving we're trying new things.
I'm keeping up our weekly Pessoa lungeing, and dressage lessons. And on Sunday 26th of October we are *hopefully* going to be going show-jumping!!
It's our first time out in (well, a very long time!!) due to my ankle and the fact we hadn't been out in a while since then!! So, it could be slightly eventful - but if it's horendously busy we shall practise XC there instead.
This winter shall be our undividing bootcamp - consisting of cross-country (XC) schooling, SJ schooling and Dressage work. - hacking and easy peasy days will also be happening!! I'm aiming to have him ready to do pretty much everything by May, 09, that way we should have plenty of time for all things competition!

So, that's my plan what about yours?
Or, do you have any comments - I'd be glad to hear them!?:)

Sounds good :)
I love the Pessoa system! Sam was going really well in it but then...I don't know ::rolleyes::
I'm going to get Sam back to no bucking, bolting, rearing etc. Planning on using a Market Harborugh (sp?) to build up his topline and work on his outline ;) I'm aiming for an extended trot in Jan '09 .
With Aike...consistently jumping 1.20m then maybe trying some BSJA. I've got lessons planned for the winter so it's bootcamp all round. Atm he can jump a 1m course with no poles down but he's only gone clear over a 1.20 course once. :D
For myself...building the running back up and learning to flip on the Powerisers ;)

Awesome, Billy's confidently clearing courses at 1m20 currently but we're staying smaller for a while getting back into showing.
Yeah! Market Harborah (sp?) sounds good, I was supposed to use one on Billy, not sure why we never got round to digging it out xD. But, I think I certainly will start again.

Neither of us can spell it xD
Sam was going brill in it but after a certain incident I've been really nervous about using it. I would reccomend it but I found he started to lean on my hands; after changing his bit to a different type of snaffle (not stronger...different joint) he would happily go around in an outline without the MH (yesh, an abbreviation;)).
I want to event but...£150 per competition?! No way. BSJA = much cheaper; if more snooty.
I'm planning on going to Broomes (only 20 mins from me) and trying for the Champs of GB in '09. Let me know if you're going down there any time. :)

Hey, that's great! Hope Billy keeps getting better.

For Bronson i have this very vague and hazy goal of reining of some sort, and so we're working on poll flexion, collection, flying lead changes, bending, etc. And lots and lots of trail riding of course.:)

For Brig, probably more jumping, and maybe i'll be able to afford some lessons this winter, which would be awesome.:D

Thats great- JTM! :) Wow. You have a good handle on it!!!

We may get another big winter. I may be able to ride the plowed roads.
Today I did small stuff in my round pen, move hip (turn on forehand) shoulder (turn on haunches) Circle left and two track right with just the left rein, stop- rollback from trot - back a circle. 180 turnaround. Bridleless- stop trotting and walk (with turns on the fence) - circle and half circle- stop from whoa.
