As you all know, Kendra (sugarsgirl) had to sell her horse sugar, this June. Her mother recieved a call last night that Sugar died due to colic.:cry: The lady thought she was sunbathing in the pasture but when she called "Sugar" she didn't move but she heard her grunt. She knew she was colicing so she called the vet. They tried to intubate? (sp?) her but they were too late. :cry: Please send your thought and prayers to Kendra. She loved Sugar so much and didn't want to ever let her go. She's very upset. I'm going out with her to ride at her barn soon so I will send your thoughts along with her.

Hey everyone,

Thank you all sooo much for the good thoughts and prayers. Its a really good feeling knowing that I have my forum family thinking about me through a time like this. Its been really hard dealing with this. I can't help but feel like its my fault, and I know that its not, but I just feel terrible because Sugar trusted me, and I wasn't there for her when she was going through her hard time and pain. I just wish that I could have been there with her to let her know that everything was going to be okay and atleast be there to comfort her. I made her leave her home, where she loved. I knew that she didn't want to go, because she wouldn't load for the lady when she came. After five minutes of not going in, I finaly said, let me try, and she went right on in, knowing that I was with her. I made her leave, even when she really didn't need to. I can't help but wonder that if I hadn't had sold her, mabey she wouldn't have coliced, or even if she would have, I would have been there with her. But atleast I know that her legs won't be bothering her anymore, and that her back isn't sore anymore either. She's gone to a better place and she'll be waiting for me at the rainbow bridge.

Just to clarify things a bit, Sugar actualy coliced in July. The new owners hadn't even had her a month, and they lost her. The reason that they hadn't contacted me sooner was because their computer crashed and they lost all of my information. They felt so badly that they couldn't get a hold of me sooner, because the add with my info on it of Sugar had been taken down. So all they could do was wait for me to contact them. A couple nights ago I decided that since I havn't heard from them in a while, and they said that they would keep me up to date, I would e-mail them. I got a respons back asking for my phone number because they needed to talk to me. Friday night I went out with my friends, and thats when they called, so they talked to my parents, and my parents told me the next morning. The owners were devistated they they had lost her because she was fitting in really well. All the kids loved her, and when she went, all the kdis kept asking where Sugar had gone to. The lady told them that Sugar had to go to another place. So its been pretty upsetting since Saturday morning when I found out. After that, I went to ride Chrissy, and I had a pretty good ride with luv2show so that helped out a bit to take my mind off things. For right now, I'm just taking it one day at a time.
