I was at the far end of the corral at dusk, hoeing some weeds. I must have dug up a bees nest because all of a sudden they were on me and stinging! The people behind us were having a party, I could see them sitting around the pool, so they had a clear view of me. I was trying to act 'casual' as if nothing was wrong and walk back to the house. Well then one got stuck in my hair and stung me on the head. I took off running across the corral yelling at the top of my lungs with one bee chasing me all the way LOL.
All in all I have 5 stings - took Benadryl and now will take some pain reliever because those suckers hurt!
Just another thing from country living I suppose...:)

Heh... been awhile, but I got into a nest while bird hunting once... only my partner and my bird dogs had no idea why I had suddenly thrown down my gun and began screaming and stripping like a crazy woman!

LOL WB!
I was wondering why the horses weren't hanging out at that particular corner anymore. I have noticed a couple of welts on Hoss, similar to the one that is puffing up on my side. I hope horses have a higher pain tolerance for things like bee stings.

Starr, after I read your post I went and got some pennies and am balancing one on the top of my head as I type LOL. I don't know...it's either the penny or the two glasses of wine that is kind of dulling the pain :innocent:

The last time I got a bee sting I was about to start a hike in Arizona. We were at the trail head and a ranger came walking up to me and unrolled a cigarette, got the tobaco wet and stuck it on the sting, it felt better right away and quit stinging. He said the tobacco takes the sting out and it really did! That's the only good use I have for it.

Ouch! That's is a lot of stings. I have only been stung one at a time. It swells up and it turns all red. I can't imagine 5 stings at once! I was told to cut an onion and put that on it.. That works for me. I use Raid spray as soon as I see a nest of any kind near were I have to be. Works great!

I've been taking benadryl but they ITCH like crazy today. The one on my hand is very swollen (see pic of my normal bony hands compared to ouchy one). We just came back from spraying the hole with Raid, then covering it up. As we had approached, we watched about 20 of them going into the hole, as if they were done working for the day LOL. I don't know if what we did will be effective enough or not.

Oh no..I sure hope the pain eases soon.
I got stung by a couple of those darn little bees that attack, so did the dogs. The nest was under the porch and one of the dogs stirred them up. I went running and screaming for the dogs to follow. Bob was in the pasture cleaning and thought I was having issues with the dogs. I hollared out the back of the shed, dont open the door, or come this way, their are bees. Getting in the house was tricky after that, and eventually I went out the front door, walked to my truck, Bob in tow to drive.lol. Had 2 cans of bee spray, had him drive up to the back porch and I sprayed the heck out of them. Bob dug up that tree stump so they wont live there any more.
Oh my....Im having a glass of wine with you...but, its been how long sence Ive drank....talk alot hu....LMBO

LOL VL I can picture you and Bob doing a drive-by after the bees! So...what's the wine tonight? I bought a bottle of "HMH Rex-Goliath" chardonnay. I have no idea what brand that is...it was on sale so we'll see. If I'm lucky, or if I drink enough, maybe it will get rid of this itching.

LOL.. I can just picture you with a glass of wine in hand shouting directions from a distance. Thet were in the ground?? Well I guess if you did not kill all of them ,, and depending on how much dirt you put on the hole, I think they could dig their way out..... You figure they dug the hole to build the nest right?
