My youngest student entered an open show today in Western Walk only, Western Walk Trot and Western horsemanship. She took 2nd in the first two and 1st in horsemanship! She was competing against ADULTS in horsemanship and took 1st!!! The costume class was adorable, she was an Indian princess complete with a "burlap" helmet cover.

Thanks guys! She's one of those kids you just want to hug - you know the short little blond girl that always smiles. Although she's timid, she's coming along one day at a time.

This show was well done and it was really pleasant. In the past these folks have put the costume class at the end of the show so we waited around for HOURS before. This year they put it smack in the middle of the day and continued the jumper and advanced western classes after it was over. I was the only one that insisted my kiddo wear a helmet in the costume class:eek: I can't help it. When it's somebody else's kid I'm responsible for, the kid is wearing a helmet. So, her grandmother made her a helmet cover to match her little Indian outfit. It was very cute.
