That pretty much asks it..lol

What's the age difference between you and your significant other?

And how long have you been together? (I know I've asked this before though..)

My fiancee' and I are 4 years appart with him being the old man! ;)

We've been together for 2+ years but seems like forever (but in a good way.) We've known each other for much longer.

We've been engaged for just about a month now!

lol are you considering dating someone 10 years different? I know plenty of people where that works for them as well.

for example: My bf aunt and uncle are 10 years apart. She's 10 years older than him. :)

How'd you guess? lol. Yeah, I'm 19 and he's turning 29. Very nice, no drama, etc. But I'm not ready for a committed relationship just yet after bad ex 2. So..I dunno.

My boyfriend and I are three years apart. I'm 19 and he's 22. We just hit a month today so we're still new :) But, it's going really well and the age difference doesn't affect us whatsoever. The only thing that he does that reminds me that I'm younger is when we're watching movies; if there is a sex scene or whatever, he'll put his hand in front of my eyes. Drives me crazy! :D

Does he know you're not ready for a big commitment? If he does and is willing to give it a shot (you never know, this may be the one ;) ) then go for it. If not I'd call it a day.you know the saying "you don't know till ya try" :D

After tonight..I'm gonna let things go with the flow. He's REALLY nice and thoughtful, and when I came over he had bought me a BIG thing of flowers and a cute little teddy bear. :) And some other stuff that I loveeeeeee...so I'm gonna see where it goes. :D

My man is 3 yrs older than I am. We've been together for almost 33 yrs, we had our 32nd wedding anniversary on Aug. 6.

Lots of my friends and cousins are married to men 7 yrs younger. I don't know what it is with that # of yrs but so many females I know are with men who are younger by 7 years. I don't find it strange the guys are younger but that # is. I have 3 cousins who are married to men who are 7 years younger and some friends too. Guess 7 is a magic #, they are all real happy too.

I always got along better with older guys.
My husband is 6 years older than me and we have been living together almost 6 years. Been married one...never had an argument, still crazy about each other!

When I was 25 I dated a guy that was 23 years older than me. We got along very well. However he was comfortable with his lifestyle and at that age I felt like my life is just starting; I wanted more than he could ever give me. When I broke it off he was very shocked, because we never had any disagreements and everything seemed to be going great. I hated to break his heart. I still remember him standing in the doorway crying, watching me drive off. It really bothered me, but I knew the longer I'd stay the more I'd hurt him.
What I'm trying to say I don't think the age should bother you. If you don't give it a shot you may be regretting it for the rest of your life - maybe he is the "one". :)
Just make sure you are always honest with him, if you will feel like you want something different, tell him before it's too late. There is nothing worse than dragging out a relationship that's going nowhere.

Ah, I knew this thread was in here somewhere!

OK, well, I just started dating a guy thats about 13 years older. I'm 22 and he's 35. We get along great. I've always hung around people older than me- I think only 3 or 4 of my friends are my age, everyone else is at least 10 years older, lol. Anyway, he's a great guy, fun and we like to do a lot of the same stuff. I could definitely see it turning into a long term relationship.

Is there any way to convince parents this is a good idea? I still live at home because of college (graduate in december though finally!!!) and have to keep the peace. Mom and I are kind of at odds about it. She's not crazy upset, but theres tenseness. I think its mostly because of all the trouble with my sister lately and her guys, plus I havent really dated for 2 years, so she's not used to me going out like that. My mom and I have a really good, close relationship and I have tried to talk with her about it but she gets really closed off about it when I try and talk.

.Is there any way to convince parents this is a good idea? .
I was 10 years older than my ex wife, and to complicate things 9 years younger than my ex M-I-L. All you can do is let your parents see that he treats you well and how much you like each other, it took my former in laws a while to warm up to a man 10 years older , but once they saw who I was as a person and how I treated her, they came round, as I am sure yours will. Just to let you know that even tho.Amanda and I split up, I have remained very close to my ex in laws, My ex f-i-l is my team roping partner and a regular golfing buddy, and My MIL calls at least 2 x a week, just to "chat"........Kevin

I know what you mean I gave 10 years to my X and I knew him 5 years prior. Cowboys a bit the same had 6 bad relationships before me. And a 6 year marriage. And then my one were just taking it day to day.
I love him he loves me we both come with baggage ( kids ). When getting hurt it makes you a little weary, scared (any other words ).

Its just like falling off a horse gotta get back on and try again. It's just easier said then done.

Well since this is bumped back up..

he and I are 'in a relationship' I've come to terms with that term..but there's no pressure..and it feels awesome. I'm head over heels with how I've been treated and not looking back. It feels awesome.

Whitney - as far as parents..let them meet him first. My parents don't know how old this guy is..and they are meeting him Wednesday.
