Anyone have ideas for cool and safe Christmas decorations for the stalls or barn? I know it's a little early. :)

i don't really own a barn to decorate but i have seen pics and big red ribbons and some fake holly (where horses CAN'T eat them...lol) look really cool. I think that wreaths look really good on barn doors.
...wait WHY are we talking about Christmas, its only october!!!! oh well, i can't wait for it so might as well hehe.

I found these great battery operated star lights last year at Lowes. If you rthining about making a wreath out of carrots STOP, you have too much time on your hands!!

We do wreaths on all the stall doors and stockings. We don't have enough outlets for lights and we were afraid of horses chewing on them. Just make sure wreaths don't have any kind of breakable ornaments on them at all, no matter how careful people are theres always a chance of someone or someones horse accidently breaking it and having glass or whatever all over.

We also had a few people do garland and bows, and red/white electrical tape on the bars of the stalls. Someone tried wallpaper but it got ripped accidently.

We had a stall decorating contest at one of the barns I boarded at!! Sterling's stall won out of the whole 30 stall barn!! I made a letter to Santa out of construction paper and laminated it, then hung it on a scroll and hung it on the front of the stall. Then I did lights around the top of the stall (where Sterling couldn't reach it) and of course stockings and garland. Really it's just having fun. If your horse is mouthy be careful about leaving anything that they can get in their mouth. Sterling isn't so other than not filling her stocking with carrots we were good. (although when my friend without thinking filled her stocking full of treats and carrots on Christmas day I came to the barn to find a soggy carrot goo filled stocking. lol.)

When it was lighted (the lights are actually red, excuse the quality, it was taken on Christmas morninghttp://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh58/cloedoll/House%20and%20Property/194321698821.jpg with my phone):

You could hang stickings on the stall doors, and mabey put some garland around places where the horses can't get at.
