Well, I just got news that we might be getting a pony..

The story. My Mom has known this guy for a long time.. Lets just say he doesnt have a great reputation(scummy). He stopped my Mom in the store today and asked her if she wanted a pony because if he couldn't find a home for it then he is going to shoot it.. the only reason he hasnt shot it yet is because then he'd have to bury it and he doesnt want to take the time to do that. And I know for a fact he's being serious about killing it, he is no doubt that type of guy. My Mom told him NO and NOT to do that and if he can't find a home for it then we'll take it. He is desperate and my Mom is guessing that we will probably end up with it.

He said it's skin and bones because he can't get to the place its kept and feed it all the time.. He feeds it but not every day. It has been locked in a stall for the past 3 months because it wont stay in the fence (his fences are horrible). Supposedly its friendly and broke, but I doubt its been ridden in a while..

We dont know much about it but we're prepared to take it on. I'm in tears just thinking about this horse sitting in a stall without any food and water.

On a lighter note my Mom's boyfriend is buying a horse.. He's a 10 year old sorrel grade horse, well broke but a little lazy. His name is Ranger.. He is coming next weekend..

Just thought I'd tell you guys. :(

If we get the pony, and after Ranger comes next weekend, we'll be up to 8 horses for the winter.... Unless April's new owners come before then. The horses just keep coming and coming.. I can't wait to get a job so I can help pay for hay.

But I'll definitely get tons of pictures.. I am praying that we get the pony just so I know that it is going to a good home..

You and your mom have such a good heart, Morgan. I am so sorry to hear about that pony, but I know if it ends up with you, it's going to have a great home.

That is terrible I can't stand people like that....my old instructor has even become one of them. That is so nice of you Morgan to take on another horse, at least April will be off to her new home in Jan. so you'll have one less but gained another!

That's so great of ya'll to do! I'm so glad (and I bet unnamed pony is too) that you have the means to do that. I've been sticking my fingers in my ears and singing to keep the news of free horses around here out. We have enough hay for ours for an average winter. If the winter's long, then we're going to hurtin' so there's NO way we can take on another... no matter how free.

Bless you, Kiger. You and your mom are saints. There's just no understanding the cold hearts of some people. Keep us posted.

I agree, thanks for being a stand up person ( and your mom too)!

It's terrible that there are people like that in the world, but its good to know that you are trying to help out.

Thanks everyone.. I'm looking forward to getting it and getting it plump and happy again..

Although I am getting a little p.o'd. My Mom promised me last night that she'd call him this morning, I got the number and everything for her, and now she's refusing to call. She told me she wished she never told me about it because she knew I wouldn't give her a break. Excuse me for being worried... I just want to get it here before anything happens.

Ehh she just came up and apologized, nevermind. Said we are getting it he just doesnt know when he can drop it off because he works 7 days a weeks..

OK.. I guess Mom felt bad and called. It's 100% we'll be getting the pony. He doesnt know when he can bring it but he's just going to drop it off here and put it in a stall if we're not here. I'm excited.. Hope he can bring it soon..

On the one hand - what a horrible thing to have to live through D: I've seen ponies like that all the time - there are shocking amounts living in broken horse trailers or sheds on allotments all over here!! I hope he's not a terror :/ though I wouldn't blame him if he is.

On the other hand - Morgan, you and your mum are so selfless! That is an amazing thing to do, take on another pony, when you have so many and winter's coming up :) Go you!! I know you guys'll take care of him perfectly and get him back in shape.

Now I'm excited for you! Tsch...empathy.

That's so sad! Poor pony. I'm so glad a great horse person like you will be rescuing him, though.
