i guess working at a feed store can be a blessing. i had a lady come in one day and we spent about half an hour talking about her and her mom's horses and how her mom does not know much and she is just a back yard rider(nothing wrong with that). she wanted to know if i know anyone in the area that gives lessons and i told her that if she had a place to ride at her house i could give her and her mom some. well i get a call yesterday and it was her wanted to set up a date and time for me to come out and work with her and her mom and their horses. i cant wait!! i miss giving lessons so much. they are going to be basic lessons with teaching the mom beginner work and her fine tuning and correct ques to the horses. she said her mom's horse had dressage training so that is what got her really messed up, dressage ques and back-yard ques are normally really different. but so Thursday i get to give my first lesson in over a year, and if it works out i will be giving them lessons once a week as well as her daughter. yeah!! extra money is always good.

That's fantastic! I've given a few lessons over the years, but I'm a lousy instructor- that takes communication skills with people, a gift I unfortunately don't have!

Maybe this is the start of more teaching ops for you.

That's wonderful, good for you! I always wanted to do that, maybe someday I can if I ever get a place of my own. Working at a feed store would be fun I bet!

Do you want to move to WI and give me lessons? I can't find ANYONE (and I've been calling, searching for MONTHS) to give me lessons at my house.

Sounds like a win-win for both of you! :)

have you tried making a flier and putting them up around town? that sometimes works.

thanks everyone. i love giving lessons, i only have people skills when working with horses, horse people i can deal with. other than that, i dont like dealing with people.
