x-rays showed off boney proliferations mid-line of P3.....

based on necropsy and histiology reports....it is a conformational defect of the extensor process. The extensor tendon was attached to far distally on P3, causing stress abnormalities on P3.

Go figure.

Yeah, that sucker was attached quite distally, must have put tremendous stress on the insertion with the extra leverage.

yeah..especially since he weighed a nimble 1900+ lbs !!!!! Interestingly, shows this was definitely a horse who needed shoes, since without then, he was lethargic, and shod, he was Forrest Gump !!!! LOL
