i am not sure if this works but i will try, here is a video of my hubby at work, he gets to sit in a AC cab all day and stroke logs all day and he says he has it hard. but he loves what he does. he runs a delimber, basically, it de-limbs the trees then cuts them to what ever length he can get out of them. the reason it is clear cut right there is because it is their landing and they need the area clear so them can have all the equipment and logging trucks moving without problems.

Cool! The video isn't super clear to me :( or my eyesight is failing me tonight, but I think I see enough to get the basic jist. I can totally see my ds wanting to do that- he would think your dh is a lucky man! LOL
How great that he "loves what he does.." You can't beat that!

for some reason the video did not come out clear but i am uploading a different one and hopefully it is clearer. he is a fifth generation logger. he was skidding logs at 10 years old with his dad and living in logging camps as well. its in his blood.

That's a cool machine! I've seen a lot of different timber handling machines and I've never seen that one!
We ride in state timber land and have had several occasions to sit and watch them work. My horse was OK with all of it, until the machine came along that could hold the whole tree up while it was cut, and then carry it, vertically, someplace else and set it down. Bay didn't like machines that could move a whole tree. :)

the machine you are talking about is a timbco. they are great and really save time when falling trees. plus it is a lot safer for the tree fallers, they can get the easy trees and send the timbco in to fall the harder ones, the ones that could be dangerous to fall by hand.

no he is just a normal logger. his bosses son likes to get pictures of every year they log, hubby brought out my camera and let him use it and he found out you could do videos as well so that is how i got these.
