Ok, this could get long, just to warn ya! So right now my horse is up at a friends house and 12.5 miles away.
Perks about this stable:
~150 a month, and she has given me a deal.
~Has a round pen and small arena
~Has some barrels and ground poles, carts I could possibly use in the future, etc.
~Tack I can pretty much use, I like to ask first though.
~Right now, there is a girl interested in leasing him, so I believe she is taking lessons on him, which has helped a little bit.
~He is out with about 18 other horses.
~Trails and fields to ride in
~Gets fed good hay and Purina feed
~Turned out most of the time, unless weather is horrible, and has a nice stall that he can come into if need be.
Disadvantages:
~12.5 miles away
~I only get up there once a week right now
I met a lady that said I could keep him there for 75 a month plus I would need to buy hay and I want to keep him on Purina. Then she offered to half lease him for her boyfriend to ride. I turned that down because I am afraid he would be too green. He is 7 but on a 5 year old level. And her and her boyfriend I want to guess are in their 50's maybe. I am going to help her train her horses, as I have mentioned in another thread on what to charge, and I can make extra money. I think in the beginning I was to do that and get half board...I can't remember now:D...Then she said if I work at least one horse every day and all of them on at least one day over the weekend she would board him for free...again I had to turn that down...Being in college it's hard to say I will be home every night. So, now I'm not sure what I want to do. I eventually want to show him, so I thought about seeing if she would want to lease him for her boyfriend, but we would have to talk it out. I also have cousins that love to ride and want to show. If I move him down here I would get to see him more. She is also 3.5 miles away. And I don't know if I work with her horses if I would get a lot of time with my horse. I am torn with what to do. Do I try to work out something close to home or just leave him where he is at. Also I ride Western and the girl taking lessons on him now it English...So he is getting free training in another discipline, which is GREAT!!! I'm soo lost as to what to do. What would you guys do?
