Breeders' Cup 2008 Pictures!!!

Yesterday was great! I went to Santa Anita with my dad, and brought along my Canon Rebel XT DSLR, with 2 different lenses, to take pictures of the horses in the Breeders' Cup.

I've got well over 300 pictures. Some didn't turn out so well, so they won't be edited at all, but some are really great.


I'll be setting up an album here for some of my best pictures, but will be posting all of them pictures that I've taken and edited, so you all can tell me which ones you think are the best and ought to be included in the album.

I'm still in the process of editing them, going race by race so I can make sure I match the right horses up. As i finish each set, I'll post them here.

I love my camera. I really do. My photography work has improved so much since I went from a regular digital to a DSLR. Being able to catch action shots has been a lot easier.

Me too! My uncle used to own quite a few race horses and he had this beautiful gray TB...ahh, so dreamy. I love gray horses overall, haha. We were at a race once and I betted on a gray horse jsut because it was gray, this horse never won a race, always got last. Guess what, though? He won that race and I got $300! Ha ha.

Awesome pictures! I noticed that Daytona's mane appeared to be braided sometime before the race, I find that kinda od... Some trainers really go for the frizzy frou look. ;) Doug O'Neill is one of 'em, and I think Dan Hendricks is another. Dan trains Daytona.

Your pictures are amazing....I have trouble looking at race horse pictures...the bits in the mouth...the look in their eyes...it is all kinda sad to me. You are a really talented photographer though!

Yep, I went in 2003 and then to Texas for the following year I believe. Those were the days I was into racing but now I don't even know any of the horses. ;)
