He's beautiful! I love his markings! Happy birthday to your son and congratulations on the new family member! I love cats, I have 3 of them sitting here staring at me! I think they want to eat.

:) thanks! he is super friendly. he sleeps in my son's bed and as soon as he sees someone sitting down, he sits himself in his lap.

Happy Birthday to your son.. What a great gift! Max looks very friendly. I am sure they will enjoy each other. How old is your son? BTW, how are your wrist doing?

thank you!
adam turned 13. he has a part time job; he wasn't at home in the morning. max was actually looking for adam. it was cute, i opened the door and max went to check every room meowing. when he realized adam is not at home he went to sit under his bed.

thank you for asking. i'm on percocet so the pain is not too bad. i only hurt when the pill stops working; it takes a while for the next one to work.
i'm just uncomfortable, especialy when i go to sleep, i cannnot even pull up the blanket.
this is going to be the longest 8 weeks of my life.

What a sweet kitty! That's great that Adam is enjoying his birthay gift, and that the kitty already has chosen him for his person.

Sorry I missed this thread yesterday- I was waiting to see pics of the cute guy!

Are you going to survive the kitty, though, with your allergies?

thanks everyone. i wish i could hold the camera. them too are so cute together.
ann, so far i'm surviving. i have to take benadryl though. if i could only keep myself from petting him i think i'd be fine. my eyes turn all red and they itch everytime i let him get on my lap.
GE i don't blame your dad. my husband thinks i'm insane to bring home a cat despite my allergies. i was told he was an outside cat before, and my original plan was for him to be outside. but now i can't do it to adam, so i will just have to eat a lot of benadryl.
remali: thanks! siamese cats are my favorite breed. :)

sam is outside now. ever since he discovered he can play with our other dogs he didn't want to be inside dog any more. so dogs and max haven't met.

If he will let you bathe him, try one of those dander-relief shampoos from the petstore. My old roomie took in two foster kittens despite allergies and you could tell when the cats needed their dander baths, she'd get all puffy. It did seems to help her out. Also, she always kept her bedroom door closed so she could have a cat hair free area at night and we got an air purifier for the tv room. I think all those things helped make her a lot more comfortable!!

P.S.- She ended up keeping one of the cats, so he must be worth the allergies, lol!

He looks like a Burmese breed to me vs. the siamese. :) We had one at our tack shop and he was the BEST cat. He would get up you and give you hugs. He was a cool cat. His name was Simon.

Good luck with your new friend. Has you tried allergy shots? I know someone who does that and has found it very successful.

thank you for the advice. i'll try to bath him as soon as i'll get my casts off. so far it really is not too bad. i'm ok if i don't let him sit on my lap. while adam is not around he likes to stay in his room a lot. and i don't let animals in my bedroom.
i am not a cat expert - they said siamese...it really doesn't matter to me though :)
no i didn't try the shots, if it gets too out of hand i may try it, thanks.

Clarzoo is right. In fact, for people with seasonal allergies, many times it's what kitty brings in or picks up on his coat that causes the problem.
