Ughh!!!! I'm taking a few online classes (Which I HATE!) and I want to freak out already and it's barely begun! I'm taking human medical science online and my teacher is INSANE! Her grading scale is rediculous (tell me if you think it isn't) A:94 or above, B+: 90-93
B: 85-89 C+: 80-84 C: 75-79 D+: 70-74. This is so unfair!! I am working my butt of...reading and trying to understand (with no class discussions or ANYTHING all she ever says to do is read) the chapters and she messed up our first quiz and an answer was keyed in wrong so I got a 95 so I emailed her and I got a 100 after she fixed it...then she writes me back and tells me I actually got a different question wrong so it kicked me back down to a 95%. Then...the second quiz was supposed to be up on Friday and it just got put up tonight....sooo I go in to take it and it's 50 questions and I only have 20 minutes to take it?!?!? That's 40 seconds a question... So, I just got a 90% and I'm sure I'll end up getting even lower somehow. :( UGHHH! kill me. I guess my vent is over now. :banghead:

That does seem like a very steep grading scale.

You got a 90% on that quiz you just took, though! That's impressive.

I think I would just try to get B overall and be satisfied with it.

You know where to find us whenever you need a shoulder to lean on. :)

I'm sorry Michelle, some teachers just aren't very helpful and want you to just pull your hair out. I've had a lot like that, you do everything on your own type...they are just here to click to a new powerpoint slide  or be unfair at grading (like your teacher).

Can't say much about the grading scale being unfair since that's what we use at my school :innocent:.

yup yup what JackieB said :D!

Thanks :/ I forgot to mention that I'm taking my pre reqs and gen eds for dental hygiene. The way I'm accepted (only 12 ppl each year) is by a point system A=5 points, B= 4, and so on. So she's going to knock me down a point when I REALLY need every point I can get. :(

Wow only 12 people CONGRATS. And know you've always have your friends here to vent to. I hope things get better...that does blow. :(

Well, I understand your concern. But you will become a dental hygienist. A difficult teacher is merely a bump in the road, even if she does cost you points.

I'd just do your best and stay in contact with her (even though you pointed out that this is difficult). If she knows you, and knows that you are really applying yourself, she'll be more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt if something comes up that warrants it.

Lol grunge I wish I were already in the program but I can't apply until I have my pre reqs which is what I'm taking now and trying to get the points!

Thanks jackieb I'm trying my best.

VERY steep grading scale! Hope it all works out for you, maybe you can go explain to him how hard you work? =/
