This is my 1999 Dell computer. Never taken the front off of it in all that time. Very rarely opened the case at all. Still has all it's original parts!
We opened it up because it was starting to make a bad buzzing sound. Figured out it needed cleaned ;) and a new power supply.
This is a heck of a computer. It's old, but it's still kicking! And it's not just been lightly used, it's been on, pretty much 24/7/365 for a decade. . All we've added to it is an additional storage drive a few years ago, and a little bit of ram. I'm a huge fan of this old guy. :~) Hubby thinks I should get a new one soon.
I was half afraid when we cleaned it out and destroyed the ecosystem that was evolving within it, we would kill it. :~)

Hubby says vacuuming them is a big no no! Something about static.
We took it outside and cleaned it with an air can though.
Hubby had cleaned the rest of the case somewhat frequently, but we didn't realize that front panel came off... or that it was a place that much dust would accumulate! Wow!

That is correct, you can damage the internal electronics that way.
Users can use a vacuum to suck up dirt, dust, or hair around their computer on the outside case and on their keyboards. However, do not use a vacuum for the inside of your computer as it generates a lot of static electricity that can damage the internal components of your computer. If you need to use a vacuum to clean the inside of your computer, use a portable battery powered vacuum designed to do this job.

Maybe that's why my last computer fried the day I did it... I didn't know..

Holy cow! And I thought the HP was bad when I got it used last year! It's amazing that is even running!
You must have a computer that really likes you to put up with that ball of dust bunnies!

Looks like the air conditioner filter used to when I forgot to clean it. I love the Titanic reference. It does look like some of those underwater reclamation pics. LOL
