There is mandatory overtime at the new job I started last week. I'm glad I finally got into this place, I'd been waiting for a few months for them to start hiring, it had gotten delayed a few times. I am glad for the extra money that overtime will bring. But it's a lot of overtime, and for quite a long stretch from the sounds of it. We have to work 10 hours a day, six days a week. Gotta be there at 5:00 a.m., so super-early too. Supposedly for the entire month of September  It's going to be tough, but I'm telling myself I can do it. Just hoping all goes well and my old creaky joints can take it. LOL. It sure seems it's either feast or famine when it comes to jobs around here. Some barely give you enough hours, and now there is overtime.....pretty crazy. But I'll take feast over famine any day. It's been quite some time since I've even worked 40 hours, let alone 60 hours a week..... So, if I disappear for a while it's because I'm probably dead tired and sleeping....

I wish you luck! You are right though, in this day and age... overtime is great!!! I wish my hubby was on overtime again... those paychecks were awesome.

Thanks lovesfortune. Hoping it won't take me too long to get my sleeping pattern switched.... I Know the first couple days I'll be dragging my butt!

Well, you asked for it! LOL I'm glad you got this job and now we'll all be pulling for you to get the schedule down and stay healthy. I'm with you on the OT versus part time work. Good luck!

Thanks! It has been over a year since I worked full time, and now to jump in with both feet and do 60 hours a week.....yikes! But I keep telling myself I can do it..... my new saying is, "think money, think new horse!" to get me over the rough spots......LOL. ;)

that's a good thinking! 60 hours a week is a lot, but if you'll stay busy it will go fast.
to be honest i'd trade with you in a heartbeat. i have nothing to do, am bored and it drives me crazy.
good luck...i can't wait to read your horse shopping thread! ;)

Thank you! I think the overtime is just for the coming month.....and I am just going to give it my best shot....
I just keep telling myself it will help me get a horse some day! And I really do like the job.

That is a lot of hours:eek:..Good luck Remali! 60 hrs. is a long week. Just think positive.. You will be fine. Did you know about the overtime when you applied for the job? Were you able to get a chair to sit in while you work?
