Wow! Those are really neat! I bet they're worth some decent money, too, from the looks of them, but I'm no expert, lol!

I'll have to dig and see if I have anything interesting.

This is a lousy picture but right now it's all I have. The horse photo on the wall is one of my favorites, it was a birthday gift from my husband. I just knew I loved it when I saw it, who knew a yr later I'd have that breed of horse?! I had no idea he is a Colonial Spanish horse. When Rompy was delivered our friend came in the house and saw the picture and she knows the horse, has met him. It was just so strange because I loved Colonial Spanish horses before I even knew they had a name! I also have photos of our friends on horseback around the house but I can't post pictures of them since I don't want to put them up on line without their permission.

I also have my old rocking horse who I rode so much I broke his head off, my father bolted it back on and I have a Mobo Horse which was a kid's toy in the '60's I think. I don't have any photos of him on this computer. He is cute.

I don't have alot of horsey stuff around the house, I do have some of the painted ponies, I'm trying to find the Wounded Knee one for a decent price but so far they are all pretty expensive.

i also have a rocking horse but the movers broke it in the move from Japan to Las Vegas. so the Airforce has to have it fixed.. so i cant put a pic of it here... but i love the pic oursarge
.. i can ask around in my circle of painted ponies for you on the one your looking for .. ill let you know what i find out for ya.

thanks everyone for the cool pictures. i really enjoy them.
miata: your collection is awesome!
annie: too bad i can't see the picture very well, i bet it's beautiful.
i don't have a lot of horsie stuff. when i was a kid my walls were covered with horse drawings of all sizes, posters and other horsie stuf. than one day i "grew up", realized that my dream to have a horse is not going to hapen and i threw everything away. (now i wish i kept my drawings)
i don't have many decorations; just what i showed you.
ann: my decorations are not worth much...i just loved how they look.
i have one more thing. it would look gorgeous if i figured out how to clean silver. if anyone has sugestions i'm open to ideas. i'll have my son take a picture when he comes home from school.

Silvo silver polish works well. Depending on the type of silver, you can even use Never Dull.

thanks. where do i get it? i don't know much about this stuff i have no jewelery. this thing is big and in desparate need of cleaning. it's very dark gray - it doesn't even resamble silver any more.

Everyone has such beautiful horsie things! Love seeing the pictures.

Here is my favorite figurine, I got it back in the early 1980's, it's made by Hagen Renaker.

How could I forget my 1943 print of Man O' War, by R.H. Palenske. My aunt collected antiques, and after she passed away in the 1960's, I got a few of her things, this was one of them. I treasure it.

I've never seen anything like them, are they antique?

This thread is so much fun..... and it is helping me to take my mind off my dang tooth pain, sort of....LOL, and helping me to not freak out (too much) over my dentist appointment in the morning.

I just remembered a few other horsie items I have..... :)

Ugh I had a BEAUTIFUL painting that I paid to give away to someone on Ebay..long stupid story and I wish I kept it..I wish I didn't "sell" it for several reasons. But it went to a good home..I hope. :(

There is a funny story behind this horsie thing of mine :)
My mom got it for me for Christmas at an art show here in Ocala. She met the artist (a local from Ocala) and found just the right one...It's number 1/100...when I got it I was shocked but 1 of 100??? How does this guy paint on so many feathers??? After closer inspection...this is a very good PRINT lol my mom was laughing so hard...she though it was the real thing. It's awesome nonetheless though! :)

That is so beautiful!! You mean it isn't really a feather? Gosh it looks like one, it's really pretty no matter what it is painted on! Cool it is 1 of 100!!

Petra

you have such pretty things. i love the amethist one.

i found the silver horses on ebay - they came from china. the shipping was $100. i wouldn't have bought it, but when my dh seen how much i like it, he got it for me. suposedly they are antique...not sure if they worth anything. i just wish to have them cleaned up.

don't worry about the dentist too much. they will give you shots. if anything you'll hurt much less than you do now. you should look forward to it.
good luck tomorrow!

lol maybe...this will be time consuming...that's what sucks - now i'm bored out of my mind. when my hands function i don't know what to do first. i wish i could do something productive now.

it sure would look pretty on my wall. :) maybe in the winter when it will be too cold to ride.

I was able to find pictures of my Mobo Horse, they aren't the best but they are pictures! I might have a better one of that horse photo, I'll have to look, if I do I'll put it up.

Found it, I can't remember what his name is just know he's a CS horse and Rompy's foster mother met him:

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g82/ournoah/BIS20Horse203.jpg

You can find silver polish anywhere Petra, that piece is so beautiful. In my house that wouldn't get too shiny, we have an antique brass bed and hardly ever polish it, I like the worn look.

Renee your prints are beautiful, I'd love to have a huge wall with just horse prints both antique and new. I always tell our friend I need a wall of just his stuff too. He hates taking horse pictures though, drives me nuts, he's such a good photographer but he doesn't like taking pictures of horses but has some really good ones of saddles and other things around the farm. I have alot of his work on the walls but would like more of horses.

Yours are great. Everyone has such fun stuff. When I was little I had a big model horse collection, they are still somewhere but I don't know where, maybe at my parent's house. I do have 2 plastic palominos, I can't remember their names, I think one was Flame? It was a mare and foal and the mare came with a saddle and bridle you could put on and off. I played with them so much. I have them here somewhere, I think they are up over the garage because I couldn't find a good place to put them but I think I need to find a place because I really did love those horses and still do. My grandmother used to buy little glass ones for me and sooner or later they'd get broken because my mother was always dusting and she'd drop them or something. I THINK I have one left in tact and it's in the cabinet in the bird room which is my "western" room, I have the old general store light out there and alot of old Native American Prints and my Skookum dolls, a pendleton shawl that is Native American design. I always wanted a room that had all western stuff in it, that one turned into a Western/Tropical/Vintage/Doll [I collect dolls, never played with them when I was little now I have lots of them] theme some how!!!!!. Anyway you all have great horsey things!!!!! I love looking at the things other people have.

Thanks Annie, I collected so many prints over the years. I had one that I lost track of somehow, I wish I had been able to locate it before my sister sold our parent's house.... it was a print of a chestnut Arabian with four white socks and a blaze, trotting out in a pasture. I never did find it tho.
