As you all know I was going to sell my mare Dolly to these people that seemed really great. But I couldn't! I couldn't do it, I broke down, I cried so hard.. I can't part with Dolly, She is my love, my life, my partner in crime!! I don't go by my name, its always Dee and Dolly.. Not just Dee. I have decided I am getting lessons, and going to save money to send Dolly to the trainers. I know I am crazy, insane, stupid.. But I love my little mare!! Well I went to the barn today, and Dolly has a new job.. Sooo What do ya think? :p Is she any good.
Ps. Sorry for the long pauses in the video, That editing stuff is hard.
Also here are some pictures from today, Dolly getting desensitized.:D

Hey!

What happened? What led to this? I thought things were going great for you two? Did something happen? I haven't been able to keep up with the forum since I have been so busy. If you'd done a thread about this I'll go and try to find it.

I think you have a good plan. A gots a few questions for you, though. :D Is there anyway you can send her to a trainer? Or maybe take lessons on Dolly? I think that would help a lot. Also, have you purchased a pad to temporarily correct the saddle fit? I know you know what an impact ill fitted saddles can have on a horses performance, attitude, etc. I really think it was a good idea to mix things up and free jump her, she has a very cute jump to her! I think a big thing is also getting out to the barn as often as you can and working her booty! Heh. I am not trying to be Miss Pessimistic, but if things get too overwhelming again, what would your plan of action be? I really do hope all works out good! Dolly is beautiful and I know how much you love her...as Morgan mentioned, please keep us UTD! =)

She is really, REALLY pretty! You did the right thing I think....just trust your feelings.
At one time, many years ago, I was going to sell my mare Kara.....and I just cried and cried when I thought about it, my Mother said to me, "Well, gosh, don't sell her if you really don't want to." I never sold Kara and I was glad I didn't. Glad you are keeping her!

i think that as your decision its a good one because you know whats right. I had to make this decision with my girl. One thing I would suggest is take lessons on her and train both of you. Sending her to a trainer might get her ahead but you want this to be a journey a second chance so you want to do it together. I'll guarentee a lot of your problems are things that she already knows how to do but your sitting/asking wrong or just not realizing what she is offering. That was my problem :)

I don't blame you! I would have kept my horse too. Hopefully ya'll will be able to grow together and learn. Just be sure you have trainers and instructors involved so you both stay safe!!!

And I couldn't help but snag your Dolly jumping pic. Don't know if it's better but I thought I'd post it in case you like it.

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Obviously, you weren't ready to sell her. She's such a cutie. Hope everything works out well with the trainers when the time comes.

awww... :) I know how hard it would have been. That's the reason I kept my mare too. LOL. Your plan for getting a trainer or some lessons with her sounds like a good idea!

Well, I don't see how that face could tug at your heartstrings at all!

Like we said in the thread when you thought you would sell her, follow your heart and what it's telling you. First, it seemed one way, now another. Sometimes we need to let these idea mature before we know. Good luck finding some help with her. You know we'll all be here. looking for updates. :)

I don't blame you - I wouldn't have been able to part with my first horse for anything. :)

My offer still stands. :cowboy:

I am happy for you and your decision. You know in your gut if it is right or not. She is so cute going over the jumps! I am getting ready to start doing jumps with Cabo!

Good luck on the training and keep us posted!
