So me and anna have been doing a lot of "concentrated" work lately. Mostly in the arena doing dressage patterns and working on transitions , and lengthening shortening gates collection and refinement those types of things (even though were in the beggining stages) so I just have this weird though I want to break out! this weekend I just really want to put her rope hackamore on and canter the pasture bareback. :):):) I love the concentrated work because I love the specifics of it but I just want to burst out!
anyone have that feeling sometimes or am i psychotic??
just wondering ;)

Oh, yeah! Back when Gypsy and I were showing, I used to get that feeling a lot! It never hurts to indulge in it once in a while- good for both you and your horse!

Gosh yes! Ha ha. Although I don't show, don't have a trainer, a lot of the time I school Keidas and Cloe. Nothing is better than taking a break and running through the pastures as fast as we can go, me not worrying about if they're carrying themselves correctly, how I look...just being free! :D I ride them about five times a week and about one of the rides we just have fun, I expect nothing of them. I say you go have some fun! :D

I think it is really good for the horse, gives them a break and let's them relax....and for the rider too! :)

Gypsy- I think your right I know Anna would enjoy it
:) Cloe! I agree! Thanks for making me feel a little less crazy haha I think I'm going to adopt that plan
saturdays are fun days period. last time I did this my trainer was sitting on the porch.
and my next lessons when we were cantering a bunch and I was getting tired.
and she's like I've seen you wildly running around the pasture enough I know you can do it! I giggled.
seems like trainers see everything.
I'm excited this is what were doing next time I ride aka tommorow haha. i'll take some pictures
Remali- yeah I can see the benefits (FREEDOM!) :innocent:

Definately! I school Beauty almost every time I ride, but every now and then we need a fun day. Last time we rode was basically just for fun, we hopped over some jumps (we are not jumpers so that is just play for us) and just goofed off. But my favorite way to just have fun with her is to go trail riding with my neighbor, find a long, open, safe spot and just let her run (we end up running solo real fast, because my neighbor's horse is a good old boy, slow and steady, so we leave them behind pretty fast. But you gotta love him, he's an awesome horse <3). Lean forward, give her her head, yell "Shhhhhhh!" and see how fast she can go. It's an amazing feeling, like your flying, and it's the only time she is completely smooth and it feels like we're moving together as one. It's the feeling of freedom. Everybody needs that sometimes.
As for Dakota, well.. every ride is just for fun. I have to admit that I never school him, we just trail ride. Our best rides though are when I take him out bareback, which is most of the time. There is nothing better then cantering bareback on the horse you love more than anything else in the world, with your arms held out like wings, feeling the wind in your hair.

LOL.:p I can understand that though, since you guys actually plan to jump reguraly eventually, right? And you ride English, so jumping for you makes sense, haha.
I don't even own an English saddle (haven't ridden in one in over 5-6 years), we'll never be great jumpers, and I don't have a trainer to tell me what to do, lol. Maybe I need one to keep me in line!:innocent: :D
I bet when you guys do start jumping you'll do great- and you'll love it!:) Even though I just pop Beauty over really tiny stuff, it's still fun. xD
