I LOVE my job!!!

I'm a high school teacher, just in case anyone didn't know and this week is homecomming week. Tuesday was 70's day so on every passing period we had 70s tunes over the PA. You know we had the Village Poeple. We're all doing YMCA in the hallway. Too funny, I think the teachers are more into it than the kids. Yesturday was 80s..."WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT NO!!!!! WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT!" WHIP IT! and other various tunes and today...you guessed it, it's the 90s with MC Hammer, and lots of other fun 90s tunes including oops! Genie in a Bottle (I think that one slipped in)

This is waaaaay too much fun to be work.

Hahah that sounds like fun! I can't wait till I graduate and become a teacher (what im going to school for now) and do all the fun stuff like that. When i peer mentored in an elementary school last year, they had a 50's day and it was soo fun haha

At my Elementary school we had Fun Fridays and they did lots of different things- Hat Day, Bad Hair Day, Backwards Day, Twin Day, Sport Dress Day, were just some of them. The kids would really get into it. I really loved teaching and never got tired of seeing the light go on in a child. The only thing I got tired of was the paperwork-my nemesis-which I vowed each year to be better at and never excelled at. And when the testing craze came back it only got worse. I was around for the first round of test mania and then for the second round and I retired. Also I was getting more and more students whose parents I had in first grade and I was replaced by a student I had in third grade!

Sounds like a blast, I love it when places do themes like that. I miss all those great old tunes! LOL.

My wife teaches high school and she is like you. I think she is more into it than the students. I also think there are times when she thinks she is still student because she goes to "school" each day rather than going to "work."

Aw, I remember Spirit Week! But that would be a little sucky to just do decades. We had all sorts of crazy stuff. One day was Blast from the Past and this one girl came in a dinosaur costume and her friend was a caveman. We'd also have Western Day, Wacky Tacky Day, Nerd Day, Cartoon Day (my friend and I came as Thing 1 and Thing 2, complete with blue hair), Dress as Your Favorite Teacher Day, and a bunch of others. It was seriously my favorite time of the year. I miss high school.... It was so easy.
