I think Keidas could do very well in dressage! I had an amazing ride today and boy when he rounds up he sure looks purdy. It was like riding a fluffy cloud. xD I can't describe just how well he did today, but it was great! :D I wish I had a dressage trainer or something, I could totally see him enjoying it.

How was everyone elses day?

You could learn the lower level tests yourself. I believe there is a website that has the Dressage Tests.

ya know Caitlin, thats why I keep wanting to steal him! :D
You fgured out my evil plan for stealing Keidas and turning him into my low-level dressage pony! ;)
I love how he moves!

Dressage is a process, not a destination. If you are riding your horse and trying to improve your communication and movement, then some might say you're doing dressage. :)

You can probably find a good book with elementary exercises in it.

Dressage is a process, not a destination.

See, I just dunno anything about it! Hah. I always think that I would enjoy it more than jumping, though. xD

All4Grace - Ha ha, if you could make it to Pennsylvania, successfully steal him without me knowing, he's yours! ;)

They have some really great books on Amazon for Dressage exercises. I'd check out some and I agree, you both would be great at it.

It's too bad you don't have any horse shows nearby you!

You can probably find a good book with elementary exercises in it.

"Cross Training Your Horse" by Jane Savoie. It's a 2 book set, and it's awesome! I've learned a lot from it.

"Dressge From A to X" by Barbara Burkhardt is another good one.

I have always thought Kedias should be in a western saddle out here with me checking on the cattle......would seem much more fun then riding the 4-wheeler

:D

I think you could do it Caitlin! It's really more about communication rather than all the fancy doodads and whatnot. :p I think you and Keidas would do great at it!

One of my favorite dressage books is Training The Young Horse, the First Two Years by Anthoney Crossley.

It may be Out oF Print but I found it on Amazon.

Dressage can be learned at any age! There are people easily in their 60's taking it up for the first time.

Gypsy you are probably right ;) I think most people don't consider a TWH horse right for it, but I think doing some of the basics would be beneficial for our relationship - maybe I'll get a book and see what I can do :)

Sorry Lizzy and livaward, he's my English horsey. :p I also think he is happier then when he was running cattle. That's just me, though, lol!
I really appreciate all the replies, support, and book recommendations! Oo and the pics, those are awesome mtnmollie! :D
