HI!!
I barely had a chance to get on here this weekend. My sister and I have been busy busy busy!
Friday, we took the kids to Disneyland after school, nothing unusualy there.
Saterday:
woke up at 5:30am got the kids up, feed, watered and rebandaged Gracie's leg. By 6:15 we were in route to Los Alamitos(sp?) racetrack. My sister was going to help her friends/students look at some horses for adoption. After the trainer was an hour later  we left for home, stopping in Norco on the way. Before I knew it we were saddle shopping for Vicor. Found a nice RD Orion narrow tree A/P, only $250-why not lets try it. We bought leathers, a bridle and reins to match and headed home. Saddle doesn't fit..too narrow in the shoulders...bridle fit very well, was so cute too, brown with tan padding underlining, cob sized very cute. Came back outside after watching the breeders cup only to find I left the bridle within Vic's reach... all that is left is the browband and cheek pieces
SOOO after thanking God it was just the cheep $20 used one and not the $80 new one we first picked out, we went shopping at kmart for clothes.
Sunday: BACK to the tack shop! :D We return the saddle, reins and leathers, and go back to weeding through the mass of used saddles. I literally stumble upon a 18" close contact Prix De Nations :) I look at the price tag  I throw it on the "horse" and sit in it...not bad... not bad... I haven't ridden in a close contact in over 10 yrs but at the price they were asking I told my sister...even if it doesn't fit Vic, we could EASILY resell for 2x if not 3x what we paid!!! :innocent:
My sister and I then start weeding through the bridles, looking for a cheap schooling one for the beaver...I mean , Vic. My sister picks up a gorgeous double bridle, and starts ooh and ahhing over it. I feel it...VERY NICE!! Soft leather, high quality, slightly used but no wear on it. I go back to searching for a bridle we could afford thinking this bridle my sister picked up was a easy $200-$300! She won't put the thing down. I causally mention we don't need a double bridle. She just has a goofy smile on and tells me to look at it again. So I am admiring it then I glance at the price tag. I swear to you I almost fell over!!! It was priced at $75!!!!!!!!!!! I look again and again. When we brought it up to the counter even the sales woman did a double take at the bridles price! It's no wonder my sister wouldn't put the bridle down! lol
So we came home from our tack shop adventures with a Prix De Nations close contact, Gorgeous double bridle, new leathers and girth, a "Pa-ci-fire" for Vic and new pitch fork. We went tack shop CRAZY! lol
I saddled up Vic and it fits him pretty well I think! I hopped on and lets just say it's gonna be a week or two before I am used to a flat english LEATHer saddle again lol!! I didn't ride for long as Vic is still a little tender footed but I am very very very excited about this saddle!
Sorry for rambling on like this but I am very excited about this saddle AND this bridle for under $300!!!!!!!
