"Docile creeks turned into surging rivers and rivers into raging floodwaters as storms raking the Southeast for days dropped up to 20 inches of rain, killing six people and leaving communities under water."
It isn't bad here just a little soggy. Now it is confirmed 7 people are dead.
We watched some one hydroplane and wreck right in front of us. Highways are closed because of flooding.
If it gets bad here, I refuse to go any where with out my pets.

Poor people/animals.We had a really bad flood around May.
They had to close off all dirt roads and we had to take the interstate just to get somewhere .Floods are scary
and they claim so many lives. We had to take ari boats an float people up to there house to gather there stuff.I think 50 cows died and alot of goats.

Yikes! That's awful!
Yeah, I remember the flooding in May, but I don't think anyone died. We were in ATL this weekend and couldn't go do something we were supposed to do because 75 flooded. Why is Georgia flooding so much all of a sudden?

I was talking about the animals :p
We had to take baby goats and put them in the backseat of a pickup truck and put the moms in a stock trailer. One of my friends has huge quail houses,We had to wade in there in muddy contaminated water, and baby mice and dead rats were floating or trying to climb up out pants lol We did manage to save about 50 quail. Deer were swimming all over the place trying to find dry land.
Im glad we live on a hill !
I really hope nobody else dies and the water recedes fast.I really don't want to see another flood ever again !!!

Hope there are no more deaths, it's terrible. I feel bad for the animals, especially the smaller critters like rabbits and small pets, they can't climb trees or get up high.
That photo of all those cars on the highway that flooded is nuts......I guess I don't understand why anyone would even try to drive in that?!

It may be the only way they could go home.

I'm still in SC, because my classes were canceled last night and today. A lot of roads are washed out.
It's flooding because it's been raining hard there for over a week, and Georgia is covered in creeks, lakes and rivers. The river near my house is still over its banks... but we live essentially in the mountains, up on a hill, so our house is not in any danger. Our barn/run in is on top of a hill, too, so the horses have a dry place to get in at.
I'm headed home tomorrow; I'm hoping that most of it has receded by then. :)

Hi everyone. I didn't go to work today because ALL the roads around me were closed. I will try it again tomorrow morning. I am hoping I 20 will be opened. We had, I think, 9 deaths..one was a 3 year old who washed away when the family's trailer was washed away. The mother , holding a 1 year old. was holding onto the top of a tree for over two hours until she was rescued. Others were washed away in their cars and one young woman was sitting in her car when the road underneath her just washed away.
We are lucky here at Buck's Hollow, we didn't get any flooding...but we have the lake which drained over the dam, then receded back down once it quit raining.
The Stables where I use to board Buck flooded to the top of the Barn!!! All the horses were taken out in time, actually just in time, because then they couldn't get to the donkeys and goats in time and they drowned. The owners had to be rescued off the top of the Barn...Some Apaloosa's across from that same Stables drowned also.
My heart is Breaking!

Actually that was the Morning Rush Hour...It is right past my exit for work. We call that area the "Spaghetti Junction". Very tall bridges up above those cars.
It just caught us all by surprise! Now I understand what is meant by "Flash Floods".
