Must be the winter like weather.
I just went out to check on the horses and make sure they know where the new gate opening is so they can get into the front pasture to drink water, salt block, etc.
It's SUPER windy so that didn't help matters, but Booty was sleeping so I went to just hang out and brush Norman for a bit. I had a little bucket of grain so he slowly followed me to the opening, but then refused to go in. I didn't want to make a big issue so I just went back to Booty who had decided I was worth getting up for (oh wait, THE GRAIN was.)
Anyways... FINALLY got them through the opening and brushed them in the front pasture. Booty was just really flightly and spooky and running all over the place while Norman just stood there. Normally it's the other way around.
So I got done brushing and then just sat to watch to make sure they drank some water, etc. Well Norman figured out that the water hasn't moved at all and stood there drinking forever!! But the whole time Booty just kept running from the front pasture to the side pasture at a full gallop. I was scared she was going to hurt herself since it's a bit muddy/slippery from the weather.
She never once came to take a drink. She took a quick nibble on the salt block and then galloped off again.
Strange behavior for her since Norman is usually the standoff-ish one and Booty will come and stand quiety.
There were some snow flakes falling.. maybe she was just feeling antsy.
Okay, this is a rambling post.. lol... but I already typed it all out.
