Well I dont believe them so I am thinking of asking if I can stay there overnight and try to see if I can get the "Rachel Ghost" To come out and see me. I think it would be cool to see if it really is haunted. We are "supposedly" Built on a cemetary. But our school is super old so who knows. I woulnt go alone I would have some other people there with me. But think I should go for it? Try to end the battle of haunted or not.

All schools are haunted-by math teachers!
All schools are haunted-by math teachers!
:hysterical: That wasn't my best subject either.
I wonder if you could get a science teacher to sponsor an "investigation night." Use some of the simpler, lower tech stuff like when the TV show "Ghost Hunters" started some years back. Then do a report and a presentation. You'd have to learn about some simple electronics, etc.
I thought the spookiest thing about schools is having to be inside all day when there is so much fun stuff to be done outside!

lucky..i never went to a haunted school...
my elementary school was in a condemned building though...and you would think my high school might have been haunted because it's right next to an Native American burial ground (Seip Mound)
My college wasn't even haunted! But the areas around it--oh yeah! :D The other nearby college had some cool haunted type stuff like The Ridges/Lin Hall (formerly The Athens Mental Health Center) and certain dorm buildings...and then we had things like Moonville, Old Mans Cave, Ash Cave, Lake Hope Furnace....all sorts of neat places to explore

My school is definately haunted. It's pretty cool and I love how old it is. My school used to be an orphanage in 1887, all the class rooms in the original two buildings were bed rooms. The fourth floor is considered haunted but closed off because of asepsis. I've been up there a few times helping teachers move things. The doors are smaller and there are a lot of life size broken religious statues. The attic I think is the creepiest part, there isn't anything but a box in the middle with an old candle on top, I really wanted to go see what was inside but my teacher said no. Anyway the orphanage closed down when the state began to take orphans and that was when it became a school in 1959. While it was an orphanage tuberculosis broke out and many monks and children died. There is a grave yard on the side of my school with very old head stones. Also there is an underground tunnel that leads from the school to where the monks live and the now university. It is locked but I guess in the early 1900s there was a fire and a lot of monks died, it's said they are buried in the walls.
A lot of the older teachers have told stories about when they have been here late at night. Some of them I roll my eyes at but there are others that either a.) the teacher is really good at making things up and is a great actor of emotion or b.) they are real. I would tell them all, but I doubt any of you want to hear any of them.
This is the original building...doesn't it look like the "typical" haunted school.

Moonville....the story is about a bridge there, right? I think a few years ago when some friends and I were researching haunted Ohio places we ran across that one. We were Ghost Hunter geeks....we explored an old cemetary from a long-since torn down insane asylum here in Columbus, then explored an old warehouse downtown. Very, ermm...."not legal".... :p But oh my god, one of my favorite nights in my life. So insanely fun. :D

Moonville is the former small mining town with the train tracks and the tunnel. Just the tunnel, track bed and cemetery are all that is left I believe. I first found out about it during one of my dendrology classes at Hocking....we went out there to ID trees and our teacher told us about it. Some of us went back later that week on Halloween night (2nd full moon of the month on that night too!). It was creepy..haha

Ok, I say the really good ones.
These two my biology teacher told us freshmen year, he is a very serious teacher and almost begged us to believe him so I believe they are legitimate.
He said that about 6 years ago him and another teacher decided on a Saturday night to come to the school and play some basketball in the gym. They got into the school and locked the door and went into the old gym which is also an older building. They were playing for about a half an hour when over the intercom they heard these weird not understandable voices. They dropped the basketballs and decided to walk around the school trying to find the teacher who was trying to scare them. They went up and down the hallways hearing and not seeing anyone so they locked up the school got into their car and drove around the whole school. There wasn't a single car anywhere and when they checked the security cameras not a single car drove in...
Another story he told me is my personal favorite and a lot of teachers have said this has also happened to them. This same teacher came to school on a Sunday night trying to get stuff done for Monday. He finally finished at 3 in the morning and went through the oldest building (the one that was an orphanage) to leave. As he was walking past the stairs he hear little foot steps and children laughing. His first thought was that the computer teacher was here with his kids that he would sometimes bring. Then he thought, "He wouldn't bring his children here at 3 in the morning..." He walked down the stairs and didn't see or hear anyone.

Oh I love this stuff and hearing stories about it. I love old buildings and houses. Around here they always want to tear them down. :(
My Mother in-law lives in a old farm house that was built in 1850's. Its been in the family forever. I swear I seen some thing there one night. I woke up and seen a transparent figure standing at the foot of my the bed and pointing out the window. It was weird because I was not afraid. My husband doesn't believe me. My daughter lived there for awhile while attending college. She said at night she heard foot steps in the upstairs hallway. Also a few times some thing wiggled her door knob while she was up late studying.
We inherited a house that belonged to my husbands brother. Sadly he drowned shortly after building it. It was his dream home. One day I was there cleaning house along with my Mom. We were in different bedrooms. We both heard a mans voice (sounded like DH brother) say Hello ! We both walked out of the bedrooms saying did you hear that. We both went outside and looked around there was no one or any cars around. This house is out in the country by its self no close neighbors. My daughter lives in it right now. She has not heard anyone but has came home late to find a light on that she did not leave on.

Well I guess I can share a few of my stories.
I had just moved into a house with my family and I was laying facing my door. With the door open. Well I am looking out into the hallway and someone starts walking at me stops and looks at me. Everyone was in bed and it was human ish but a shadow.
Then once I was in st augustine flordia at the light house. I saw a girl in the light house. It was creepy.
Then once we had a baloon keep coming down off the ceiling and over my dads mouth. We had the doorbell continuesly ringing. We had a vacoom that would be unplugged that would somhow get plugged in and turn on. One time I was at a friends house and her grandpa had passed away a week before. It was his house. She said"Grandpa please shut the door" and the door shut.
I am sure I have had more.
O I guess when I was little I could see ghost. Like most kids. But I was a tad different I could carry on conversation with them. I wasnt ever afraid. I still rember some of that. I know I am weird. I can still feel a presence usually. I repeat I am weird.
Very cool stories! I love haunted stuff.
My dad has some cool stories, I have never had a ghost/haunted experience though.
There is a house in Georgia, I think its in Villa Rica. Well my dad went at night with his friend years ago. It is an old, old house. He said if you stand at the end of the drive way, all the lights will be on and there will be a silhouette of a lady rocking. But if you go up to the house you can't see any of it. LOTS of people here in GA have claimed to see it. I have never been up there though.
I did check out Orna Villa, the oldest home in Oxford Georgia. It is supposedly very haunted. I got a creepy vibe from it..But I think I was just freaking myself out lol. It is a gorgeous home. The story on it is pretty creepy. I read about it in an American haunting book.
here it is

Ive never had any experiences that I can recall. My highschool in Hawaii, though newer, had a few "haunted" buildings. It apparently used to be a hawaiian burial grounds or something and when it comes to hauntings and "spirit" type things Hawaii is similar to Alaska. On maui we have a place they call the Hawaiian homelands, its basically the hawaiian government gives you a piece of land i you have so much Hawaiian in you. I know people who built houses only to be haunted so bad that they moved away. We have all types of stories including those of the menehunes

The only paranormal experience I've had happened to me almost 5 years ago. It was December, around the holidays, and my family was going through rough times. My grandpa had suddenly passed away that September and my uncle had taken his own life that October. Every night when I was trying to fall asleep, my radio on my alarm clock would turn itself on. It was only low, but it was enough to keep me awake. No matter what button I hit, it wouldn't turn off. After a week or so I told my mom and she said the same thing had been happening to her. She thought it was my uncle (he was a BIG music lover) coming to make sure we were okay. It happened for about a month and it freaked me out! I lost so much sleep and was so jumpy! Half the time I'd make up excuses to sleep at a friend's so I could catch up on my z's! It happened the following year around the holidays for about 2 weeks and hasn't happened since.
Prissy! When we were at the St. Augustine lighthouse, in the upstairs toy area, one of the big wooden tops was spun around and the rest of us were across the room. The attendant was near us, too.
