Oh great, its almost that time of year again. The little kids screaming, the dogs freaking out, the constant door bell ringing!
I am not a fan of Halloween. I never understood why its a holiday, and I don't like all of the things that come along with it. My mom is a teacher so ALL of the little kids know her, and know where we live, so the door bell is constantly going and little ones are running all over our yard screaming all night. Our dogs bark at the doorbell, and they get really stressed out with all the people running by the fence. So the only option is to sit with them in the basement all night until it stops.
We also live in an area with a lot of jerks who pull the Halloween "pranks". TPing, shaving cream on cars, the whole sha-bang.
And going to the barn is not an option. Our BO hosts one of those Halloween trick or treat parties for all the little kids of the community, so they are always running up and down the aisles screaming. Tobey's owner said he gets really nervous with all the costumes and high voices and everything so she has to take him to the far pasture away from all the noise.
Oh man, I have to just keep telling myself "its just one night, its just one night".
Does anyone like Halloween?

Awe, sorry to hear about that! Like you said, it's just one night...I'm sure that's no help, lol...I do feel bad for the animals, though. =/ I hope your dog and Tobey do ok this year.
Does anyone like Halloween? I am a huge fan of Halloween because they're always awesome parties and super fun haunted houses to go to! Last year I worked at a haunted house, good times, haha. xD
I forgot to mention, I live out in the boondocks and it's all teenagers around...nobody goes trick or treating, just parties and haunted houses. ^_^ When I lived in Hawai'i, I lived in the suburbs and the doorbell did get annoying haha.

I don't agree with the commercialistion of Halloween at all. I hate it when you've got 5 year old kids at the door, you give them sweets and then they have the cheek to say 'Is that all? [Insert name x here] gave us wayyy more.'
Gahh!
Myself and my friends are more interested in the spiritual aspect. We often stay over my dads house (which is haunted) and see what happens, if anything. This year I believe we're acutally trying something new ;)
I am, however, going to a haunted house night :D It's a total laugh - I'm going as the 'un-original scene kid' cause, lets face it, scene kids are scary.
What I've found effective with the prankers is to get a marshmellow shooter (mines a bow and arrow one :)). I'm deadly serious. Put small pebbles in it and take aim, fire. Even small paper pellets leave bruises so those pebbles...ouch! :D Satisfying though. And maye sure you do it from somewhere hgih up where they can't see you ;)

Gahh! :huh:Tell them you could have given them nothing and they should be thankful for receiving free food from the awesome Pinky! They should be thankful they have a roof over their head, food in their stomachs and an education. They could be homeless, alone, not too bright and starving!
Well, that's what I told some ten year old, was that smart, respectful and kind? Should I have handled it that way? A nope. Did I say it? A yup!

Thanks cloe :) But normally they bring their parents with them. Besides, most of the kids who live round here don't go trick or treating - it's all the mega rough people from Duffryn (eww!) that have siblings carrying knifes and occasionally guns.
Links to various marshmallow weapons if anyone wants -

I'm not a fan either. I haven't really ever been Trick or Treating except to a few houses in the neighborhood when I was little, we always went to harvest party's instead. I have to dress up for work on Halloween and I do not enjoy it. Last year I was a Can-Can/Saloon girl, didn't enjoy it at all but I did it anyways. I did get pretty good tips though :p This year I am going to be Nerd, although I still don't have a costume and it is coming up to quickly.

Want to come and raid my wardrobe? :p My friend and I have matching t-shirts that say 'My clone is awesome'. We wear them while together. :D True nerds, we are ;)

My town has a Halloween Parade and all the kids got to it. After the parade they trick or treat. I think the little kids are cute. Around 9:00 PM the uncostumed thugs come around with their pillow case open. So 9:00 I turn the porch light off and that is that.

hehe! i'm ok with halloween but sometimes, some trick or treatings can be annoying! My mom is always obsessed with halloween, she full out decorates, i think she just LOVES seeing the little kids in cute little costumes. My neighborhood, people kinda just walk with their kids. but they always make sure the kids are polite which is VERY nice!
I like Halloween, but that's probably because I still trick or treat. :) Most people say I'm too old (16), but I still have my inner child that needs to be fed. :p
