Is it just me or has the quality improved in the photos that are uploaded to the albums? Or I guess not improved, but not lessened when uploaded...if I make sense. :p

Well, hubby's always in tweaking things, it's possible he set it to save larger files, which would affect the quality. He'll just have to answer when he sees this (he's at work)

I did in fact make some configuration changes over the weekend.

I eased some of the restrictions on the size of attached images, and also changed the way the album pictures are stored. It shouldn't have affected the image quality, just the speed and efficiency of displaying them, but maybe it did make them look better too.
