Yesterday at my church every year they do a blessing of the animals. Most people take their dogs and cats, but of course I took my horses! We got some strange looks from people driving by. I don't blame them considering the fact that there were 3 horses standing in the grass next to a church getting blessed by a priest. Not something you see everyday. Anyways, it was very cool. Talent chewed on my leaflet and tried to eat the priests prayerbook and his robes. They got lots of attention from everyone. Anyone else do this with their horses?

I haven't, but it looks like a fun scene, all those critters in one place.

Welcome to the forum :)

I've never heard of it before but it sounds pretty neat. And i can only imagine the kinds of looks you got-- I always get those curious, weirded out looks when I take my horse into town. :p

I've never heard of it before either, what kind of church do you go to? That's pretty cool! I go to a really small church...I doubt they'd do something like that. lol.

My friend went to a church that does stuff like that. I don't think they ever took her horses though!! I'm sure it was an interesting site!

I go to a very small episcopal church. I believe the blessing of the animals is on St. Asissi's(sp) day. Anyways, he supposedly cared for animals and stuff like that.
