I'm just wondering if any of you have seen one? My friend just called me to say that she knows someone giving away two minis. She says that she wants one but only if they're cute and she wants me to go with her to look at them. Now, I haven't been around a lot of minis but I think it would be pretty hard to find an itty bitty horse that isn't cute. So, I'm thinking that what will end up happening is we go look at the minis and both end up leaving with one. Am I wrong?

Yup, that settles it. An entire arena full of minis and not one of them isn't cute! Of course the little turd running lose is the cutest one of all!!! I'd better not go with my friend to look.;)

Stay far, far away, or you know you'll come home with one!
Yeah, I know minis that aren't cute. Its when you are chasing them down the road at 3 am while its sleeting because they decided that despite your fence improvements/stalling them/chaining them/hog tieing them that they are FREE no matter what and they want to visit the horses down the road. And then you get them back home and they give you that cute face and look all :innocent:
I've already been bitten by the Miniature bug. :) I've never seen a mini that wasn't absolutely ADORABLE.

I've seen this one mini at the farm that my cousin rides at, and its so ugly that it is cute. Makes no sense, I know, but its still cute I guess lol

I have two minis and they're cute except for one when he is eating and you try to get close to him. He'll turn his butt towards you and take aim. It's really pretty funny as long as you don't forget that he is serious and will kick you when you get in range.
I saw that scene in the video above live. It was at the MN horse expo two years ago. I know one of the little girls that was chasing the little colt. We laughed so hard! We ended up buying our palomino Morgan filly from the little girls mom later that weekend. My minis are for sale but we won't be giving them away :).

I can give you PLENTY of non-cute minis. Weather personalities or looks, you name it.
Here is an example.
A Dwarf, will die before the age of 5. People want small horses, but dwarfs are to the extreme. They are very frowned upon in the show ring.

I'd never breed for a dwarf, but heck Sam, that fuzzball is still cute

Oh you have to go and be ready to be leaving with them. They are cute. My friend adopted one. The mother had died and he needed to be bottle fed for a while till he was weaned. He was soooo tiny & of course cute. Click Please http://tinyurl.com/5tbhql/.gif (http://tinyurl.com/5f6mo5)
Actually dwarfism isn't "breeding to the extreme" but rather a genetic fault that happens just like dwarfism in humans. Dwarfism is frowned upon in both breeding and showing, but unfortunately being a recessive it can "hide" and pop up when least expected. However, not all dwarfs are dead by age 5 - I know one that survived to be 18 years of age.
BTW - just because one survived I am NOT saying its ok to breed for them. Just wanted to clarify so no one took that wrong. ;)

Sorry PrimeTime, looks like you've been outvoted. Even the dwarf mini is cute in its own way, poor little thing.

Nope...all of them are adorable. I love that video too! I have seen it before, but absolutely love it! The barn I board at has a mini baby, Sammy, and he loves to crawl through the fence and back in. He is small enough to do it. He can't go anywhere or get hurt. They are all adorable!
