Saved a puppy

Okay My aunt works at a dog groomers and a lady came in with 2 puppies said that either they could take them or she was just going to let them die and that would be fine with her cause the other 5 died.:mad: One lady in the store said she could take one and my aunt said she was going to take the other and feed it and everything.....well my aunt has doesn't even have a place to live so I said well I will take the puppy and get it clean and healthy and find it a home. So I have a little puppy with teeth barely breaking the skin, covered in fleas, and weak.......the lady said they were 4 weeks old and pure miniature schnauzer......he is a boy and very cute!

He is sooooo sweet and is a turd at the same time......he growls and barks......and then he kisses you.....he was soo hungry.....his gums are pure white almost....poor guy.......I filled his belly and pooped and now is sleeping in my lap......awwwwwwwwww

He is so cute! He looks so frail. Has he been to the vet to have him checked over? I love mini schnauzers. I wonder if he's all mini s. or a mix. If I lived closer I'd have him meet my Noah and if they liked each other I'd take him. Noah is dog aggressive but you never know he might meet one he likes.

That person who wanted them to die should be run over by a truck. I know that sounds mean but I hate animal abusers. Who would be so cruel to let a puppy die, I know alot of people but I really hate those people. Thankfully he is safe now.

I am taking him to the vet tomorrow since they are really busy today.....to get him some worm medicane and have his looked at.......I think he'll be fine now though.

No name yet.......my MIL lost her schauzer about 5 months ago to old age and asked if she wanted him when he is old enough but she doesn't know yet......she has to ask my FIL first.....but if she can't get him he WILL have to find a home DH says......My boxers don't get along with anything but other bigger dogs.....

Aww he sure is cute. I have a male black Mini Schnauzer. He is my baby. They are great little dogs. They are a big dog in a little body. I sure am glad you helped save him from the Evil Women that had him. It is hard to tell if he is full stock with being so young and small yet. He does look like mine when he was tiny but with a tail. I seen some adults on the internet with there tails too. Hope you find him a great loving home.

Hope the puppy is doing good today. He's so adorable and if he is a miniature schnauzer like Grady [Gliderider's baby] he will go from a cute puppy to a cute big boy! Grady has the most precious face. The puppy is cute no matter what but Grady always makes me smile!

O I have a Giant Schnauzer, we got her from the local pound who had to rescue her. We believe she is around 4 years old.

Her name is Payton. Apparently her old owner became depressed because he lost his job training dogs and "forgot" he had 9 dogs outside in kennels. When the shelter came, only Payton and the Giant Schnauzer male were alive. They rescued her in November we adopted her in November and she weighed 52 lbs...she now weighs 87lbs. She is the best dog ever, doesn't bark, doesn't jump, doesn't go on furnature, obiedent and knows all commands, walks well, and is a sweetie to everyone including my rabbit.

Sadly when we got her she was terrified at bats and was very nervous all the time, she is now a very out going girl and I love her to bits. I can't believe the things people do!:mad:

I named my CockaPoo Ruffus, Id name him Ruffus

I have to say that we were in a puppy class with a mini schnauzer and your puppy doesn't look like him at all... Your pup is adorable, but not super schnauzerish. So, why can't you keep him? I think he's a doll. :D

My boxers don't do well with smaller breeds........The puppy is only 4 weeks old at the most so it is hard to compare to a pup that is old enough to be in a puppy class......schnauzers change quite a bit through puppy hood

Unfortunately this kind of thing is all too common. We routinely had pups and senior dogs just left in a box or tied up outside the small animal hospital that I worked at for many many years.

If you haven't had a vet visit yet, you need to.

Since the pup was covered in fleas, the rest of the litter died and the owner just dumped the pup on a groomer, it's very likely that none of her dogs had vet care and that parasites besides fleas are running rampant. Pups should be started on deworming programs at 2 2 weeks of age and continued every 2 weeks until they are started on heartworm preventative (around 6-10 weeks of age). This is because the majority of puppies (and kittens) carry ascarids which can be transmitted to humans and cause damage to the brain, liver and eyes--even blindness. Puppies and kittens also commonly carry hookworms which can be transmitted to humans as well and cause painful and very ugly skin lesions called visceral larval migrans.

I would expect the vet to go ahead and vaccinate starting at about 6 weeks of age with the unknown vaccination history of the mother dog (again, likely that she didn't have any vaccinations).

I took the pup in to the vet and he wormed and checked the puppy over.....he did have one poop with worms in it.....since then he has been much more active

That may happen. I told my husband about it, showed him the post. He said, if I felt strongly about it that it would be my dog,,,NO DUH HU...and I just cant stop thinking about him. I dont know why. I mean I see dogs I want, and cats I want, and oh they are so cute, but your guy has hooked me, my heart reaches out to him, the others are cute too, but dont make me mushy inside. I wanna save them ALL ya know..lol
Thing is, Im going to Wa for 10 days in Dec, and although I have a house sitter, she works and I dont want him left home alone so young.
He would be my go go dog, except in the heat of the summer. I miss that in a dog, mine are just to big and hairy and mess up the truck. They are house dogs anyway, they dont even like staying out in the kennel, but have to when we are out working in good weather. Spoiled brats.
Hubby comes home tonight, Ill talk to him again about it. He drives through Tx weekly, hes on a time schedule and I dont think he drops down that far in TX. So IF it happened, we would have to work something out.

Well, we talked, took like 5 seconds to say, I know where your going with this, he was smiling, so that was good. He does not drive that far south though. He comes home I-40. It would be a 10 hr drive for me. We need to figure this out???? Let me know how Sunday goes with your MIL.
