I live only an hour from Columbus and wondered if anyone is going to the Quarter Horse Congress this month? I have been to the Equine Affair; but never to Congress. If I do make it--any events I should be sure not to miss? Thanks!

Mary, I'll be going to Congress at some point...not sure when though. I think I'll probably be going with Rabid Raccoon and Piper though if you want to try to make it down for that! :)
I was a first timer at Congress last year...and to be honest with you, it wasn't as exciting as it's made out to be in my opinion. The shows are fun to watch, but unless you're a hardcore AQHA QH person, you'll get bored after a while. :) I would like to catch some horses working cows if they have that...I can't remember.
The shopping though.....OMG. The shopping is amazing - BETTER than Equine Affair. At least last year it was pretty good. I'm hoping to find a pair of SMB boots for Rebel and who knows what else will catch my eye. Congress is the world's largest single breed show, so vendors definitely realize and take advantage of that!
My advice - wear comfy shoes. :)

Girls I am in!!! Just pick a day and I will try to make it...meet you all, etc. It would be good to "meet" somewhere and then drive together because it is $25 a car load.
I have some shopping items that I want as well!

I'm going :) Probably in a week or so, deffinately don't have time to go this weekend.
I love Congress. I like to watch the shows and the warm up arenas (most of the time I actually think the warm up rigns are actually more interesting than the shows...), and shop. :)
Wearing comfy shoes is good advice ;) And the idea of meeting somewhere and driving together is a goooooood idea. It's a bargain if you have five people in a car, but a complete rip off for one or two.

Last year we didn't pay to park.....we parked on the roof of one of the buildings. Maybe L had some type of pass? I'm not sure how that worked out...

OH - I'm excited to check out some SUPER TRAILERS again!!! Hahaha....I love looking at those things. They're just mindblowing! Nicer (and almost bigger...lmao) than my apartment!! :D

Ooooooh looking at the trailers is one of my favorite parts! I'm such a dork :p Some of them are nicer than my house ;)
Yes, she had an all-congress pass last time, so we didn't have to pay per individual visit. I think it's $75 for one of those. So if you're going more than three times it's worth it, but I don't think I will be.
I'm thinking I'm going to go not this weekend, but next one. If anyone else is going then, we should meet up :)
