my poor pomeranian!!!!

I keep her in a semi-long puppy cut, but let her keep her full tail....so I was trimming her the other day, as I let her hair get a bit out of hand and long--she gets that "show dog" hair going on and I don't have the time to brush it out twice a day...a 2-3 inch long puppy cut is much more manageable!

About halfway through she wiggled and flopped juuuuust right...and BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....off came a good chunk of hair from her ribcage, circling her back and half of her glorious tail hair.

so she now looks like a lion (and is totally embarassed)

So I dug out some of her doggie clothes....and she is now warmer and not feeling so..nekkid!

She has gotten this haircut before too...twice from me and once from an actual dog groomer! Same reason too...she gets all excited and wants to wiggle around...and BZZZZZZZZZZZrrrrt...off comes more hair!

She's a fun dog though...not at all yappy...I've had her since she was born...I was even there and had to help her and her littermate out as both were breech. She'll be 10 years old two days after Christmas....can't believe she is that old already! I keep saying she is 4 or 5 when people ask....looked at her reg. papers the other day to prove to my mom she was born just after Christmas, not just before....and seen 1999 as her year of birth!

Don't feel bad, I'd never make it as a dog groomer either. The big dogs belly is shaved right now...

yeah..that is about her exact haircut...except her legs are shaved clean as I always shave them clean first and then on to the body....she even has the tip of her tail still there...LOL

Don't feel bad. She looks really cute in her little outfit.

Maybe not as a dog groomer, but vets need those skills of yours to clip surgical sites! ;) She's still awfully cute. :)

WB, that cat has quite a scowl. Hope it has some redeeming qualities, too!

Oh, poor baby! But it's only hair--I once gave my cocker a burn under his chin when the clippers got too hot, and it took forever to heal! I felt so bad, it was nasty!

We had a Pomeranian when I was younger. He had the long coat. I would cut his butt hair and "fender flairs" with scissors so he didn't get dingle berries or dread locks back there, just clean him up a little but make it look "natural". One time I cut back a little too much and we ended up with a fluffy cute tan dog that when he walked away you couldn't help but notice these dark black balls dangling for the world to see. It was like I cut a window just to show them off and the poor dog knew it! You could tell he was embarrassed literally in bare assed! :hysterical: We were laughing for a good month every time he would turn around until the hair grew out. lol

LOL

we keep around the bum shaved on her to prevent gross tangles and poop gathering....even did that when we had a ton of poms and all kept their full coats (THAT was time consuming...10 or so poms in full show coat)
At least she has time to grow back her hair before it gets terrible cold so she'll have a thick layer of fuzz under her clothes when she goes out to potty this winter..LOL

Haha poor dog. We used to shave our dog like that in the summer because he was an Alaskan Malamute with a THICK coat and couldn't handle the heat. We called him lion puppy.

WB - That cat is plotting someone's untimely demise. :hysterical:

Dandy21 and I have trimmed poor Misha a few times. When he lived with me I kept his toe hairs trimmed (so I could see his toenails). She generally keeps his belly hair short so he can keep cool. I am in no way, shape or form ever to be mistaken for a hairdresser for anyone/thing/being.
