No worries, she wasn't in that desperately needed to be cut jungle for more than two minutes. I was free lunging her in that pasture and I just had to let her stop and take one bite, now I can share what not to do with you all! Another no worry, the grass was cut before I let either of my ponies in there. :D
ETA: These pictures were not taken today (it's snowing right now, ha ha), but this summer. Just to clarify. :)

Haha, my horses would think that was awesome. I don't think they've ever been in a pasture above their knees. :D Four horses make short work of a lot of grass anyway.

Niko wouldn't know what to do! He used to be on very very short grass with 5 other horses and now he is on a dry lot. I have put him in the yard though to eat and he doesn't mind the "catching" part, its the ok come on leading part lol

A few months ago to give one of our pastures a break we took 3 of ours over to a friends place that had belly high grass..There was no catching them once they were set free...The day we went to bring them back to our place they seen the trailer and took off to the far end and it was a catch me if you can.

Oh my, dont let City and Myst see that, they would go nuts in there.
She looks very happy eating away.

Great pics. It usually surprises my customers when I mention to them I would much rather have the horses on that pasture than the short grass. Then NSC content of tall, bladed grass is far less. It is in the blade of the grass where the sugar get photosynthesized into more structured carbohydrates. Short, cut grass and heavily grazed pastures are stressed and go into defensive mode where NSC content can be dangerously high.
Peruse through some of the articles at www.safergrass.org .
Just FYI
Grazing muzzles are my ponies savior.

Id rather have the horses on that too westmanfarrier. You can let them graze for a short time, then put them on dry lot(or muzzle). Id like to graze mine on tall fields always. I cant wait to see my new grazing area next yr. The lower one is so thick, and we seeded the long side one very heavy. Will reseed the long side, early spring for summer grazing. The lower area will be ready while we wait for the long side. Bob mulched both areas at a high mulch. Man it looks good.
