I can't wait! Who else is going? I missed the MN Horse Expo this year, and I also missed the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison. So, I'm really excited to be going to the MN Equifest. It's the weekend of October 24th, I've never been to the Equifest. I'll be taking my camera! :)

I'm going Saturday too! We should meet up somewhere there. I am near Eau Claire, WI (Chippewa Falls) so I'm only about 85 miles away, give or take a few miles. I would love to meet up with you and Shewasmyshadow. I'm going with a couple friends of mine, they have horses too. In fact one of them is the friend who will be boarding my new horse. She was talking about the Equifest today, I'm not sure what time we'll be going...... but we can all perhaps meet up at some point during the day on Saturday, that would be so fun!

I'd like to go but with the time of year with work and a Saturday I'm not sure it will happen. If I can it will be a last minute thing. But, somebody needs to keep an eye on FW! lol

For sure we'd meet up. I'd never miss an opportunity to give FW some crap.
I'm serious about keeping an eye on her. She's just like a little kid, in a good way. :)

LOL Ranger. I was hoping you would go. I need a body guard. Because someone might take advantage of my shyness and I need you there to protect me. ;) And you know how I hate people staring at my feet in the bathrooms. So if you could find the time to help me out that would be great. ;)

ROTFLMAO about the feet comment. That was just too funny at the horse expo.

You should have heard her at the horse expo. She is anything but shy. We had barely met and she had to use the ladies room but loudly proclaimed while looking through the door. "Look, you can see her feet. I can't go if someone can see my feet." That's not a direct quote but it's real close. She cracks me up and SWMS just takes it in stride like it's a day at the beach.

LOL..... I'll fit right in then, I pretty much say whatever is on my mind.....well, within reason..... ;)
I used to be terribly shy when I was a kid..... but then all of a sudden I did the total opposite, now I'll jabber away to anyone who will listen, whether I know them or not, ha ha!

I bet they haven't looked at this thread.
Are they really coming here next year? If so I would love to be a mouse in the corner for that one. LOL

If they do, you better get those horses broke and go riding with us. We might just have to go camping at the bottoms. So I guess you have a winter project.:innocent:

I see they are having a colt starting competition this year. But I wonder if they are having anything else....
has anyone heard anything? I checked the website but it mainly mentions the colt competition. At any rate, it will be a great time!

Still not sure if I can make it. Work this time of year takes up a lot of time and there's just a lot going on.
If I can't make it I will get my horse fix at the annual Frostbite Ride by stopping in while I am working. I'll be looking for hunters and checking horse trail passes so I can spend some time there. :)

Oh no Farmers Wife, I am so sorry to hear about your father in law passing away. You were so good to him.
I wasn't online last nite or this morning.....darn it.... I thought about checking in this morning but I was running late and I had to meet up with the two friends of mine that I went to the Equifest with, so I never saw this until now, otherwise I definitely would have called you. If you were in the coliseum for the parade of breeds.....I was standing down there by that flatbed trailer in the arena and I was taking pictures of the horses that came in. Wasn't the Icelandic horse cute??!!
So what did you guys think of it? We enjoyed it and had fun, but we were disappointed at the small turn-out....not many horses were there. Still, it was nice to get out and see the horses. And we didn't even know about the stuff going on in the Judging arena and the other areas.....duh! We didn't pick up a program until after we'd almost been there all day long, we walked thru the horse barn when we first got there and then we spent the rest of the day in the coliseum, glad that had heat in it, we got cold in the barn.

Sorry we missed you. I was a little disapointed of how small it was. We got there before 9am and left at 11:30 to go to lunch and then we came to my house and rode horse. It was me Shewasmyshadow and her friend Abby. We rode all 3 of my horses. Dolly was in heat of course and wanted to be next to Monte. We took turns on all the horses. It was a good day concedering what happened to my FIL.

We were real disappointed too and had thought it would be much bigger than it was. Maybe it is still getting known and getting started, I think this was the third year of the EquiFest. Unless the previous day's lousy weather kept everyone away.
Glad you got out to ride, it turned into a not-so-bad day weather-wise.
