While you are "goo goo ga ga" over the two babies... there is a ninja (and possible future Olympian) , in the distance, amongst us....

Someone had HUGE "you know whats" and thinks I care... little man got worked in the round pen to correct his "tude" and then we worked on trotting in hand a little more consistently than the usual "I don't wanna"...he was GREAT!

I taught him the COOLEST fart trick EVER!

I also worked Koda. He started off "not so good".. I had to back him through the pasture gate. But it's the first time I've pulled him while in pasture since I tend to work him in the evenings or early AM. Otherwise, he was a little "off" mentally but ok. We worked on basic stuff. VOLUME on the video will give you an idea of the level he's progressed to and how quickly he now responds to verbal cues.

YouTube - Koda the mustang, back to basics 10/13/09

Note to new readers: Koda is a 3 yo off the range mustang, recently gelded and in a progressive rehab/training/starting program.

Side note: I am considering his adversity to small spaces and "gateways" is related to, most likely, shoots and other instruments used with the authorities who governed his capture etc... these kinds of things sometimes stick with a horse for a while. But in due time, time will prevail. Once he left the pasture (and he was easy as pie to catch), he went through every other gate fine.

Thanks! (I love your avi btw)

They're a lot of work, but I keep very military school type discipline 'round here.:nono:

They all single file out of the nursery.. and when it's time to come back from "gym time" they all single file back. No kicking, biting, bullying, although I do have the occassional prankster and/or escapee :p

Hey! We worked REALLY hard on that! It was a good one, too, I thought we'd singe his tail.

Thanks! I won't tell them that, though... not a good idea. I have hormones and egos galore right now :(

I think maybe a year... he came right from the Bureau as a 2 year old I believe. But they let him be out on pasture until they brought him here. He's VERY trusting and VERY smart. But has some triggers he needs to work through.

the mustang mare i know is verrry observant~she is ALWAYS watching the people! very smart & curious & sweet & loves to go out on the trails. but has a couple triggers too~ she can strike with that foreleg like nobodys business if she feels threatened
