Okay, okay, I'll stop with the alliteration :)

Hope everyone's feeling better and no one else is ill. :cowboy:

Nothing much planned for today really. I've got a 3000 word essay for English on 'The Red Room' (and not the one from Jane Ayre!) that I'm struggling with. But I've got another 3 weeks to write it anyway :D

Up till 3am this morning watching Most Haunted Live. Wasn't really that spooky - some of the stuff they used was interesting though - and they got a proper case of EVP. Not really surprising though; they used an Olympus DS-40, I swear those things would pick up a mouse fart at 300 yards!

Have fun today everyone :)

Good Morning Everyone!
I'm working from home today so I can run over and meet the vet for fall shots. Looks like a nasty weather day around here and I did hear that 4 letter word in the forcast for tonight/tomorrow. I'm just not ready for snow......besides she still has her shoes on and they won't come off till next month so it needs to hold off just a little longer :)

Morning all.
Cane has runny poo- so that meant a late call to the vet and some pro-bios and mom up until 11 checking on him. He was fine and he and Jake pretty much wanted me out of the barn. Mr. Coyote and I are destined to meet, well he will meet my bullet. The game warden said I needed to "exhaust all humane efforts" before I can just shot. Well leaving the fence on and him still sneaking through is the last straw for me.

Jonathan is having huge issues with the scary masks at school. I will be the happiest mom when Halloween is over.

I have a bagel to share and fresh homemade banana bread. And my ususal D&D iced coffee.

Jet- that yucky weather is headed my way. AHHH, I am not ready for snow yet either.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all!!! Went to turn out the herd this morning. It feels officially like winter this morning. Temps in low 30's but heading up to mid 50's. I had 2 popcicle ponies this morning. They probably weren't as cold as I was. Diane was running a fever yesterday, guess she has caught destemper or something..http://img2.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0026.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-confused-smileys.php)http://img2.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0018.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-indifferent-smileys.php) I hope she's feeling better today.

Everyone have a GREAT day!!:)

Morning. Last night was a long one. I just got to bed when my 2 yr old son woke up SICK. He must have caught the bug from his cousin, so he was very clingy and needy and miserable with coughing and stuffed up nosehttp://img2.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0026.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-confused-smileys.php), a bit of a fever. http://img2.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0018.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-indifferent-smileys.php) So he slept with hubby and I until I couldn't take his tossing and turning anymore and he went back to his room. That lasted for an hour and then I had to crawl in with him (thank goodness for twin beds) because he just couldn't sleep. Needless to say it was a looooong night! This morning he is even worse, so we are just waiting for his sister to get it too. LOVE COLD SEASON! Thanks for the Smilies Sunday's Man. I'm sure I'll be using them alot this year!
Tanya... glad to hear Cane is okay after the runny poo issue. I hope you get that coyote! And only a few more days until the scary mask "season" is over. I can't wait until my son goes to school.. I'm sure we'll have the same issues!

Good morning everyone. It's cold here. 21 degrees right now and heavy frost. I'm sorry to hear about those of you with a bug. My wife thought she was working on one last night too! Have a great day. It's another day of work in the fall for me.

Hi all! Today I was able to sleep in for once because instead of going to work at 7am, I get to come in at 11. So I got a MUCH NEEDED couple of extra hours of sleep!

I'm planning on not working a full 8 hours today, and after work I'm going to try to find clothes for my Halloween costume (I'm trying to put together a 50's Mobster Girl!) and try to meet up with a friend so that he can borrow Microsoft Office from me. Oh, and school.....I'm behind in my literary class. Too much barn time!! LOL.

No horses today for me....it's my day off. But tomorrow....I'll be back out at the barn!

Morning everyone! Brrrr! It's cold here- 25 deg! Guess I'd better start getting used to the cold. I go through this every winter- don't know why I live up here, except I've never lived anywhere else, lol!

It's suposed to warm up for a bit this week, so maybe I'll be able to spend more time outside.

Hope everyone with the cold bug starts feeling better soon.

Have a great day, everyone!

Cold here too --Brrrrr! Blustery, damp, upper 30's and 40's--I am NOT ready for this! I work at our schools Latchkey Program; so I was at work at 6:30 a.m. and now home to house work, ect. until I go back in from 3-6.

They shouldn't play with EVPs - they deserve to be thrown across the room when they get home if they're using those.

Snow! Take pictures FoxFire! The high today here's supposed to be 51. I think unless it snows the lowest temperature should be 51. :coffee: I'm not so fond of cold weather. ;)

Same picture sentiment to you JetLag! :D

I hope Cane's better soon Tanya! :)

30s and raining Arrow? Someone needs to explain to the rain that once it gets into the 30s it should snow. :p Atleast it's prettier to look at, right?

SundaysMan it was 29 when I left my grandmother's this morning, but we're up in the mountains. It looks so nice and sunny and warm outside... and then you go outside...

I hope your household feels better soon loves!

Ranger - I heard a rumor today that colleges in Minnesota are completely enclosed (dorms, cafeteria, classrooms all connected) because it's so cold - is that true? If so I'm transferring to Minnesota so I can stay warm!

Have a good day eleven!

Gypsy - Same question as posed to Ranger. ;)

Have a great day chic!

Some of ya'll know that I worked on a project all day yesterday with my partner. It was due today - we had a presentation. We get to class (after I walk a mile through the FREEZING WIND) and changed into nice clothes, and she's cancelled class. I haven't been so mad in awhile - I hate presenting things and I was all nervous and cold and... blah. My partner gave me a ride back to main campus though. We don't have class Thursday either, so I'm thinking I'm going to cut out after my 8am algebra test and go job hunting instead of to astronomy and western civ.

Have a great day everyone!

Tanya, I sure hope Cane is feeling better.

For those of you sickies, listen up, THE WEATHER IS CHANGING, WEAR YOU SCARVES, and cover your ears. I have found that as I aged(oh man)that when I start protecting myself before hand, that I get sick less.
Take loads of Vitamin C right now. Helps, it really does. Hot Tea.
AWww heck, does nurse Vicky need to come baby you all.
WBs Sick Ward...LOL...nurse Vicky here to help and baby you all.
((HUGS))...ps. Im not really a nurse...duh hu..lol

Expecting a call today. Ill keep you informed if it happens. Funny thing I didnt think about yesterday, she may not call nor email me(I dont see that happening)but she has closed me out the door in the past, cause I wouldnt take sides. We will see, what ever happens, happens, Im feeling strong and able to handle it. No accusations, cussing nor yelling on my end.

Ya ALL have a great day!!

They shouldn't play with EVPs - they deserve to be thrown across the room when they get home if they're using those.

I know. It was interesting mind - as they're in North Wales the 'ghost' (uh huh:rolleyes:) 'spoke' in Welsh. It said 'dai' (pronounced the same as 'die'), which is 'two' in Welsh.

They all got totally freaked out; it was kinda spooky....especially as after they picked this up all of the windows on the middle floor (about 50) of the asylum blew out. It's their faults! They also played static which just enhanced the 'voice'.

Still, I prefer them trying EVP to using a Ouija Board (big no-no :nono:) with no trained medium/prior experience! And then they didn't even close the session! (Friends parents work as mediums).

Edit - Loves, EVP stand for 'Electronic Voice Phenomenon' (Phenomina? Phenomini? anyway...). It's where you use a voice recorder (preferably one from the Olymups DS Series) to 'capture' a spirit talking.
It's not exactly recommended; especially not if Yvette Fielding is present (I hate her!).
The recording can be played backwards or forwards and if you're extremely lucky you might pick something up.

Definately not recommened unless a trained medium is present!

ALOK or Pinky - please explain EVP. I'm confused???

Vick, let us know how it goes. At least she followed your advice in your email about the 24 hours. That's something!

EVP stands for electronic voice phemenona - it's where you catch ghosts (mostly demonic stuff though) saying things (usually like "get out" or "die die die") on tape. It's not smart... it opens a door that can't be closed by the average person and it goes with the tape... hence 99% of 'ghost hunters' who really don't know what they're doing. Especially on that particular show.

On edit - Ouija boards are worse... but you couldn't pay me to touch either of them with a ten and a half foot pole. ;)

I've been present while a Ouija board was used; but refused to take part. It was my friends parents when we went on a 'ghost hunt'. I'll refrain from messing in things I don't understand; thank you :)

Going to be on line for a little while til I have to drive my daughter to school, then back to bed.
Take care everyone.

When we were kids, we used a Ouija board, they were pretty cool back then. A clear mind, and the lightest touch are a key there. Heck, when my mom and dad were married, we did some weird stuff, moms side of the family. I remember my mom used to go to sayonces????(not even gonna try to get that one right)My brother went a couple times, and he taught us how to lift stuff. I was lifted off the ground once, weird, way weird. I have NO clue how that stuff is done today, and frankly dont want to..lol. Ive also had an out of body experience, that was a trip.

My bad! :D It seems I can drag just about any thread off track .

Vick - A seance? Way cool! There's some history of...precognition and things like that in my family :) My great-great-grandmother was a clairvoyant and i get deja-vu a lot . It can be quite annoying when trying to have a conversation and knowing exactly what's going to be said so I generally skip ahead 10-15 minutes. Winds everyone up!

vicklynn
10-28-2008, 08:28 AM
Pinky, thats funny. My mom and Aunt used to answer the phone before it rang...I think they were the only 2 that did that, and it was when one was calling the other..lol, conversation used to start with an answer to the question that was never asked...lol
I used to get deja-vu alot, but it was the, IVE been here, or this has already happened. I still get it, but not as often. Ive started into conversations, controlled the outcome of an argument(if needed) I remembered from the same conversation, with the same person. Now that is weird. Thing is, we(whom ever) never had the conversation before, it was the first time. Kind of odd when your wondering what is going to be said next, cause you remember you talked about it, but not the outcome, of the good ones. I remember the outcome of the bad ones, and can change that.

I think I've done the Red Room...but that was way back in year 8. I have an essay on "Compare the themes of oppression and freedom from the last three paragraphs of Nelson Mandela's The Long Walk to Freedom, two poems of your choice from the "Political Identity" section of your wider reading poetry collection, and quotes from the text The Handmaid's Tale"
But I'm doing chemistry first... *sings the moles song* moles moles moles moles...

Up till 3am this morning watching Most Haunted Live. Wasn't really that spooky - some of the stuff they used was interesting though - and they got a proper case of EVP

And yeah, it's never spooky man :P you wanna watch Discovery Channel spooky programmes, now they're cool. I watched Ghosthunters and had a nightmare :D

Well I'm halfway thru tidying my room...whole new setup, dust is gone, for now, and I need to get rid of all my bits n bats and spare bits of paper that I doodled on but never threw out.
And tomorrow, I'm going to Geo's!! So I have to finish her picture of her pony, Jack.

Hope you're all having good Tuesdays!(I would say "hope you all have", but it's 4pm so mine's halfway done :P)

<-----Can't wait until their Live Halloween investigation!

Morning! Just checking up on forum stuff before I go out to run errands. I could have sworn I had another box of gauze for Gracie's leg but alas i was wrong so I have to run out an buy more.
Gave Vic a bath yesterday...or rather I sprayed him with the hose and he pawed the water right back on me. That boy LOVEs to play in the puddles!

I also love Destination Truth (that man is HILARIOUS!)! I try every week to get back into Paranormal State but yesterdays episode just ruined the show for me. They did an exorsicism (sp?) and it was just a little TOOO played up if you know what I mean.

Have a great day!!!

Good morning everyone, and feel better to you sickies! Seems like it's going around EVERYWHERE, I'm just not anxiously waiting for my turn.

Apparently California thinks it's still summer, we are in the period that we call our "Indian Summer" So it's been in the 70's-80's but I think it's calling for a cool down and some possible showers this weekend. I'm ready for a little rain :)

Work, work, work all day long and then out to see the horsey. We are getting pretty good at working in the dark, and we have the run of the place too!

Gotta get to work for a bit, hope everyone has a totally terrific Tuesday :)
