At a ridiculous price! Over $1000 in the US and over £2000 in the UK.
So it should be 'Photoshop CS$'
I won't be getting it any tme soon with a price tag like that at any rate. The trial version should be out in November :D
(And yes, I realise it was released a few weeks ago but I didn't think about making a post until now)
There are loads of new features - my favourite being the ability to view things in 3D :)
Really good article here (http://psdtuts.com/articles/news/its-going-to-be-brilliant-adobe-photoshop-cs4/).
Is anyone going to get it? Also, if you have photoshop; what version are you using?
I'm currently using CS3 Extended (of all Adobe programs).

I saw that a few days ago, insanity, eh? I can't stand Photoshop, lol. I've been downloading the trials since Photoshop 7 (I think) to see if I ever would like it, but I just can't get the hang of it. I love my Corel. =D

Guessing you've got Corel X2? I used to have that :) Actually....
*digs through program files (I really need to clean some of this out!)* I do! :D Woot!
Unfortunately, for my graphics GCSE we have to use either Photoshop or Bryce or a mixture :/ That or we can just do photography. :D

We're using Photoshop 7.0
Don't know if honey will be getting this one for us eventually or not. :)
I don't know how to use half the tools on the one we have. :)

I have Photoshop CS3 Extended and I probably won't upgrade. I did see it was out but I haven't check it out really yet. CS3 has been powerful enough for me. I can't imagine what CS4 could have that could make it worth the upgrade. But I could be mistaken!

CS4 is pretty good (I've tried the beta version on my teachers Mac) but I just can't see it justifying the $1000 price tag!
Little tip - go and buy CS3 Extended now and get the upgrade to CS4 Extended for free! That is...if you don't already have CS3 - wouldn't make sense buying it twice :D
I'm proably going to get the trial and enjoy it while I can :)

I have Photoshop Elements 5.2 - that came with the Wacom Tablet. I think anything more would be way too advanced, tho I do long for a history brush D:
See, I sussed out PS enough to make my new siggy, and I think it's alrighty ;)
I might try the trial, once we've cleared out the computer :P it's way too clogged up right now.
I also got Art Rage 2 when I got the tablet - anyone ahve that? It's so intuitive, I /love/ it - it's more like real painting or drawing than photoshop. I also have Paint Shop Pro 8, that was from mum's work, pre-Photoshop.

I use the whole CS3 package here at work... Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash, etc.
Photoshop 7 does fine for us at home, we don't really need most of the new features for what we do. Plus CS3 and 4 have system requirements that would really stretch our home computers.
One other thing... the $1000 price tag is most likely for a new purchase. Upgrading from CS3 should only be a couple hundred dollars at the most. Amazon currently has the upgrades for $200, and $700 for the complete version.

Thanks for the upgrade prices WBoy :)
I looked at British upgrade prices, £1000 for the complete (which is what I'd get ). How is that fair?
With a very rough 2:1 conversion rate the British one should only cost £350 - instead it costs £1000!
I'm a total Photoshop addict, but mostly for wallpapers using stock photography, I'm no good at photography :D
Also, WBoy, I was wondering if you used Dreamweaver and Visual Basic (VB for programming stuff :)) at work?

I use Dreamweaver for some HTML editing, and for its site organization tools and FTP client.
But for most of my actual coding (PHP, javascript, CSS, etc.), I use the Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm) text editor, because I like its syntax highlighting better than Dreamweaver's.
I've never used Visual Basic. Isn't that more for C++, .NET, and that type of programming?
I use Photoshop 5.0. IMO I can't tell the difference between the CS3 and 5.0...maybe it's just me.

So you work as a web developer/designer? That's what I want to do when I leave uni :)
I love VB :D We have covered some C, but it's mostly C++ and .NET (I'm taking a computer programming course 3 years early:rolleyes:) but for our next rotation I believe we're covering Pascal and then on to Binary (oh, the joys ).
