I've been pretty camera-happy lately and I have a lot of new pics of the horsies and goats to show you guys!:D

Dakota modeling his turnout sheet, but unfortunately I think it's too small on him.

My pretty girl.xD (Please don't mention her fat hay belly, I am well aware of it and I swear I don't feed her that much at all.:o She gains weight on air.)

She was being a dork, I kept trying to get her to put her ears forward and was whistling, kissing, and talking to her like an idiot ("Beauty! Ears up! C'mon, pretty girl! Beauty! BEAUTY! BOOTY BUTT, PUt YOUR EARS UP!":innocent:) and she wouldn't do it. Then right after I'd snap the picture she'd put her ears up.

We got our first snow of the season a week or so ago. I always take pictures of the first snow, I do it every year.

Our Ford Escape covered in snow:

One of my kitties and my poor snow-covered pumpkins:

The horse pastures:

Kota eating his morning grain:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc148/dakota_92_2007/firstsnow019.jpg

Beauty doesn't get morning grain (and she barely gets any at night, I just give her a handful or two for a treat) so I let her lick Kota's feed bucket.

Lmao, pissed off poneh wants grain!:innocent::p

Great pics! The horses are so pretty! Beauty has the same problem that Sierra does...they can both get fat on air!! :hysterical: The goaties are sure cute too!

I love the first snow fall of the season! Everything looks so beautiful and peaceful.

What belly? I didn't see a belly.
Dakota sure looks like a Saddlebred.
Do your goats need to wear blankets too? Mine does.
Very nice pictures except for that white stuff all over.

His blanket in the first picture looks like it fits him, why don't you think so?

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone!:)

What belly? I didn't see a belly.

She's got quite a belly on her.:innocent: She's definately a little overweight, but she carries it well and you can see it more in some pics than in others. She's built like a tank, powerful and very stocky. But that's ok because I like stocky horses.:)

Dakota sure looks like a Saddlebred.

He's a Saddlebred/QH cross, but I definately see more Saddlebred in him than the QH.:)

My goats don't have blankets, they actually do really well with the cold.:)

It fits him perfectly everywhere except his chest/shoulder area. I think it's too snug on him there.

I never noticed that til you pointed it out :p

Lizzy; like we would ever complain about having lots of Beauty & Dakota photos! Ocourse it's practically a form of torture showing us two so beautiful horses and then saying we can't take them home? :nono::p

Too tight on the shoulder? I don't know what they're called but you can get bits to go in the middle of their chest area, to make the rug wider at the front ;) My friend who has a *cough cough* slightlyyyy tubby highland pony uses one, it does the job great :)

OMG SNOW!! You make me want a snow day again (>")> you're so lucky! I'm just getting yucky rain >.<

I think it's a roller or something...you can put those under rugs to make them fit better. I can't see it fitting too baly but I guess it's one of them angle things. How annoying when it fits everywhere else!

Have I ever told you how much I love his saddle-up gear??

Beauty's looking cute as ever - great photos all round :D

I love your horses. They're gorgeous! :)

You say hay belly, I say nice-and-warm-winter-fat. :D

We got our first snow up here at the end of September. It snowed again today, but it hasn't lasted yet.

Lizzy, great photos:) I always look forward to seeing pictures or video from you of your animals. Your goats are so cute. Now I want a goat! Kota & Beauty look good in their coats. I think Kota's turnout sheet fits him OK.. But it is hard to tell from here. Your snow pictures are nice. But I am not ready for snow. I like the tree in snow.. Very artistic! I have a black & white cat named Domino who looks just like yours. What is your cat's name?

The snow is beautiful BUT glad it's you and not me! ;)

Great pictures as usual. And yep, Beauty does have a nice "hay belly" ...LOL But that's OK, at least she's not underweight going into the winter. :)

Thank you for all the nice comments, everyone!:) Glad you like the pics.xD

As for Kota's turnout sheet, it's pretty snug in his shoulders, that's the only thing I'm worried about. Not sure if that's a big deal or not, I just don't want it to rub or restrict his movement.

I just want Dakota so bad!

Hehe, join the club!;) :p He has a waiting list of people who want him!:p He makes a very good first impression on people and he has an amazing personality. So loveable and such a goofball, it's almost impossible not to like him (at least I think so, but my opinion is a little biased:innocent:). But he'll be with me forever so his fan club is out of luck.;)

I have a black & white cat named Domino who looks just like yours. What is your cat's name?

I have a lot of barn cats but she is one of my favorites, the friendliest one too.:) Her name is Pittance. My dad found her as a kitten abandoned along side a high way. She's been with us ever since. She drives him crazy now because she gets in his feet all the time and begs for food and sits on the picnic table when we have camp fires, but she's a good kitty.:)

And yep, Beauty does have a nice "hay belly" ...LOL But that's OK, at least she's not underweight going into the winter. :)

Lol, yep Beauty definately hasn't been underweight since I got her!:p She was a mess when I bought her in January 2007, but after a couple months of good food and lots of TLC she really filled out and has had a hay belly ever since, hehe:innocent: But that's ok, I would rather her have extra fat on her going into winter than be on the thin side like Dakota. He has filled out a little bit though since I added to his diet.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

The sheet definitely doesn't look too small. If it's too tight in front, I migh see if there is a way to adjust that, but it looks good.

It fits him perfectly everywhere except his chest/shoulders. It's snug there, I'm worried it will restrict his movement. How snug is too snug I wonder? It's times like this I wish Dakota could talk!:p It would be so much easier if I could just ask him if it was too tight!:p

I don't know if I could adjust it to give him more room somehow or not. JumpTheMoon mentioned something about that, but I'm not sure what she's talking about. (Rachel, can you help me out here? I'm confuzed.:innocent::p Is there a link or something to where I could buy one of those blanket thingies you're talking about?:D)

We finally had a strong frost last night! But not at my house, just at the barn. It's not too tight if he can eat comfortably, I think--but I'll let more knowledgeable folks weigh in.
